We have finalized our calender for 2005 and it includes over 25 events for the year.... Our biggest event will be a 3 day tour to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for the Eureka Jazz fest on September 16th, 17th and 18th. Room space is limited, so let us know early if you want to attend! We would love to make this an annual event for Ferrari owners in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Tennesse.... (Roland Linder, you gotta come to this, incredible roads!) Please email me for more information. [email protected] Chris Parr Ferrari Club of America National Membership Chairman
Hello Chris, We in Colorado want to do that event with you but I just a call from Peter Taylor (Stradale) and he told me that this the same dates thanthge Colorado Foliage tour.... Let's see what can be done on your side to be able to do both events. Here, the hotels are already booked since this will be the high season to see the color change in the mountains !!! Please get back to me so we can all come west to see you Merry Christmas Roland F40LM
I drove those roads last fall on a cruise and they are FANTASTIC!! If the hotels are sold out we usually stay in Hot Springs and enjoy a morning cruise up to Eureka Springs. Just a thought if hotel space becomes a problem. See ya there Bill
Bill, you have posed an interesting idea, I am going to be in Eureka on the 15th 16th of this month, we may try to do a Hot Springs run and see if it is a "comfortable" cruise. We are considering having the event start on a Thursday evening with a reception, then Friday a day trip to Hot Springs, spend the night at one of the great old hotels then head back to Eureka on Saturday for Jazz fest..... Do people get tired of driving Ferrari's (and an occasional Viper) on the best most scenic roads in the US? We will see, thoughts anyone? Chris
Sounds like a plan Chris, Let me know if you decide to drop down to Hot Springs and I may pop up to meet ya (any excuse to drive works for me ) Do people get tired of driving? Well on our fall cruise I put over 600 miles on Saturday and my only complaints were that it should have been a longer cruise and I wish I didn't have to share seat time with my wife!!! Hot Springs has a lot of hotels so room space shouldn't be a problem. I've already received some responses so it sounds like a party to me. Bill
Bill, another option is a trip to Petit Jean and the car museum then back north to Eureka.... we are exploring all options.... I will try to let you know, we would welcome the Vipers, our FCA VP in KC is a Viper guy, so we are fine getting our butts kicks by big Detroit iron!
A group of us are leaving KC on the 21st of Jan to make a preliminary run to Arkansas to set up Hotels, restaurants etc.... If you are in Eureka on the 21st, 22nd or 23rd.... let us know!
This event is very exciting news for me! Exotic car sightings are few and far between in this area, unless you count the occasional pca event through this area. I can only recall seeing a TR, a 512 and a fiat dino with fender badges in the past several decades. Although I don't yet belong to the FCA (will join soon) let me know if I can be of assistance as I am only about 10 miles from ES. Dave
I'm in Joplin and would love to join ya'll but unfortunately I am on call for the weekend. I am joining FCA and am interested in area events. BTW Need to check out highway 86 which starts in Cassville and goes to highway 65 from Branson. The first part of the road goes through the Mark Twain forest and most of the drive is along the southern edge of Table Rock lake. It is absolutely incredible both for scenery and driving. Also, I have been told highway 120 (I belive) is even better. It starts from Highway 65 just south of Branson and then winds its way south of Bull Shoals. I have been told that this is an even better road. Enjoy.
I just returned from 4 days of "road work" on the Jazz Tour, I have to tell you it is going to be fantastic! As many of you know, Ferrari's have been a passion of mine for a long time, I rarely miss Concourso Italiano or Cavallino......... They are great events. This last year, after many gracious invitations from John and Franco, I was able to attend Ferrari French Quarter Classic and I truly think it is the funniest event in the US right now for those individuals that want to actually DRIVE a Ferrari as it was meant to be driven... We could certainly never compete with this great event, nor do we want to! However, in the same vain as Ferrari French Quarter Classic, I want to share one of the best kept secrets in performance car community.... Northwest Arkansas, in this case, Eureka Springs www.eurekasprings.com. The roads around Eureka Springs Arkansas have been listed in Road and Track as having 2 of the 10 BEST drives anywhere in North America. I was fortunate enough to spend part of my youth growing up in this area and I know theses roads better than most... trust me, you have never expierenced roads like these anywhere in the US. On September 15th, 2005 we are going to have an invitational Ferrari event that will start on Thursday afternoon with a reception at the Crescent Hotel www.crescent-hotel.com , our host hotel. This hotel was built in 1886 and is truly a castle in the Ozark Mountains. On Friday morning, September 16th, we will leave out around 9AM for a 2 hour drive on some of the most breathtaking and challenging roads you will ever experience. These roads are smooth, wide with just the right combination of straights and EXTREMELY tight curve sections. Friday we will end the first leg of our drive at a local winery and restaurant, after lunch we will continue our tour by taking a high altitude tour back to Eureka Springs and the Crescent. Friday night we will relax, as in no suits, no ties, just a casual dinner at the Crescent.... Saturday morning, September 17th we will get up and take a short tour to War Eagle Mill www.wareaglemill.com for breakfast on the top floor of this 1800's grist mill. After breakfast we will return to Eureka Springs' downtown area. We have reserved parking for your Ferrari so that you can enjoy the many shops and restaurants in this historic city. Saturday night we will be taken by horse drawn carriage from the hotel to the local train station to have dinner in a Pullman dining car as we move through the mountains. www.esnarailway.com Saturday evening we will enjoy the many Jazz bands that will invade the city! Sunday morning, September 18th, we will leave again around 9am for a 30 minute cruise to Pea Ridge Military Park for an interesting and historic view of the most important Civil War battlefield west of the Mississippi. By noon on Sunday, you will be free to start your journey back home. Cavallino, Concourso and the Ferrari French Quarter Classics are the best Ferrari events in North America right now, and given the opportunity I would not miss any of those events, but for those individuals that truly want to drive their Ferrari the way it was meant to be driven, you will not want to be anywhere but in Eureka Springs on September 15th, 2005! We are limiting attendance to 30 cars, for more information or consideration please email me, [email protected]. We have reserved space for Franco, John and Rob out of respect for the all of the hard work they have given to the Ferrari community, we hope to hear from the rest of the tifosi soon! We reserved 30 rooms for the Jazz Tour and we already have 27 confirmations, we have asked for another 10 rooms, but I suspect those are going to go fast.... We will have our website up in a couple of weeks that will give the final deatails and pricing, but I can tell you now the pricing is coming in alot LOWER than projected. If you want to be put on our list for rooms message me. This going to be alot of fun, first class, with little cash! Thanks, Chris

Some of the best roads anywhere period IMO and bound to provide more driving stimulus than a tablet of Viagra and a can of Red Bull. Hwy 76, 23, 86 & 143. You really need 4-5 days to do all the roads in and around Mark Twain Natl. Forest. You guys keep it on the road and provide some pix OK !!!
You should be hearing shortly from another Dallas bad boy Indy partner in crime and his beautiful wife. That is Ron & Stephanie. Also Rob and his beautiful wife Karen are thinking about it. Dang, we'll be in full force representing the Dallas hoodlums and beautiful wives.
oh we came up with a new name! Just got back from Eureka Sunday nite, everything is going perfectly. We do have secure, reserved parking downtown and at the Hotel. Roads are fine on the routes we are taking with no speed bumps.... We changed Saturday night to dinner at the Lodge of Whitney Mountain, so the views will be incredible for dinner! We have 5 rooms left as of today, so we would love to get a couple more cars, but we do not want it too big. Remember, Ferrari's are meant to be driven, not sit in the garage! I too just got back from Eureka, and I'm with Arkferrari on this - I'm not sure I would want to risk my baby either on those miserable streets. Now, regarding the 'secure downtown parking'... The parking you are referring to is used by both the Crescent & Basin Park (they are jointly owned by the same company). It is completely unattended, and *not* secure. There is no 24hr security, and it is in an isolated lower section of 'downtown' well beyond the shops. Definitely not a place I would feel comfortable leaving my Ferrari overnight at. Hell, we stayed at the Basin, and I would walk down every few hours to check on my 'lowly' daily driving vehicle! Keep in mind that the Crescent is *NOT* walking distance from this parking lot - you would need to take the shuttle from either hotel, and they are few and far between. I've waited 45 mins for the Crescents shuttle before. Based on the parking situation alone, I am not going to attend this. If the parking venue could be changed to be *AT* the Crescent itself, within window view, I would certainly consider. Edit/Delete Message
If you had asked and not assumed it would be much better! We have roped off parking at the Crescent with a guard. If you want a room overlooking the parking lot, no problem. You cannot get much safer... The parking lot you mention is at the Basin, not the Crescent. You should not assume what you do not know to be fact. I never said we were using the parking lot at the Basin. By the way, this is Eureka, not Little Rock, the biggest crime in Eureka is jay walking. Our "secure" parking lot downtown is next to the Police Station at the Courthouse on Saturday, so that attendees can shop without worry. We will have a person watching the cars at all times... No need to take the Trolly as you have "secure" guarded parking in both locations.... My "lowly" driver is a F40, if I am not concerned, I think you can feel confident your car is safe.
If my car goes 1,500 miles and tearing up the back roads of Arkansas without a scratch. I will be disappointed!
