Ferrari Club of America – New England Region
Two Day Track Event, Monticello Motor Club
    Thu-Fri, July 1-2

NEW TRACK EVENT FOR NOVICE AND ADVANCED ALIKE!
We’re hosting a 2-day track event at the beautiful Monticello Motor Club (MMC), just west of Danbury CT/Newburgh, NY – about 90 minutes from Stamford, just over 2 hours from Hartford and less than 4 hours from Boston.

Special introduction program for novices, with 1:1 instructors and detailed guidance! Have you ever thought about learning how to drive on a race track? Or considered bringing out your vintage or classic car? We will have four different run groups, with drivers assigned according to experience and vehicle specifications. Space will be limited, to ensure hours of track time in small groups. You may drive whatever marque vehicle you’d like (not limited to Ferraris).

MMC was built to be one of the premier private motor tracks in the world. We’ll run the 4.1 mile full course, among the longest, safest, most challenging tracks in the East, with a total of 22 turns, including hairpins, increasing and decreasing radius corners, laid out over thrilling elevation changes. If you’ve never been, this will be a rare opportunity to try out this exclusive track.

This event has been made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Ferrari of New England, our Presenting Sponsor. Ferrari of New England will also have trackside support available, and will also be performing both pre-event tech inspections and final grid inspections at the track. For more information on service, contact Steve Oldford ([email protected]) or Mike Shalhoub ([email protected]), at (781) 769-6979. For sales or other inquiries, contact Dennis Dotolo, General Manager, at (781) 619-6955.

Hotels: Our host hotel is the Hampton Inn Middletown, NY, with a special rate of $129/night, breakfast included. Call 845-344-3400 or go to www.middletown.hamptoninn.com and use Group Code “FCA“ to make a reservation .

Insurance Coverage Available: NOTE that some street insurance policies will cover damage done to your street car on the track, though it all depends on your individual policy and/or the state in which your street car is registered (while some owners have been successful in making claims in the past, the trend is to exclude even driver's education events like this one). So check your policy to see if you're covered -- you should absolutely not rely on this note! And if you want to buy coverage for DE events, coverage is now available through Lockton Affinity at a very reasonable rate.

I was at Monticello last week for a Porsche DE. Awesome, awesome track. I can't wait for the FCA event on 7/1 & 7/2. I attended the FCA NER DE at Watkins Glen in May. Well worth the money. These guys run a very high class DE. Great people, great cars and a great time.

I am pretty sure I had previously seen something on Motorsportreg about firesuits being required for Empire Region FCA events or speed would be limited. Can you please clarify whether a firesuit is required for an intermediate level driver in a 2008 Z06 (in case the car matters). Or whether there are any restrictions if there isn't firesuit. Thank you.

The FCA National Track Manual has rules that must be applied to all FCA track events. Those rules require wearing nomex (single layer minimum) for all drivers in Blue and Red run groups, but not Green nor White. None of the run groups have a per se speed limit; rather, your speed is limited by your skill/experience/desire, your car, your instructor (if you have one), and traffic. :)

    vty,

Thanks to Dennis and the Gang at Ferrari of New England. I have been doing track events for ten years and I can honestly say this was in the top ten of all events in my history. Where to start. First the schedule was run on time like clockwork. The event was safe with only one incident. The tech people were unbelievable helpful...thanks Sean! The lunches provided by the sponsor was a welcome surprise. The dinner on Thursday night was terrific!! The attendees were very friendly to a newcomer to the NE region. I am a MidAtlantic guy mostly. The last comment is that Monticello Motorsports Club is fabulous. I wish I had the discretionary income to be a member...and lived a little closer to take advantage of it. All in all a fabulous time. Last thanks goes out to the Staff at Monticello. They couldnt have been nicer and helpful as I needed some business support because it was still a work day and I couldnt be left alone by my staff!!! I'll work on that for the next time. Thanks a ton!! Jon in Delaware
A few cars worth mention in attendance. The Porsche is mine!
