190+ for Grahame 70+ for Ian There were about 70 people who sat through the ordeal and I felt for both people who ran, I think it was terribly distressing for both people but in a way I'm glad there is that much passion that drives people to do a voluntary position for such a prestigous club I have always had a close love of the club and my serious accident 15 years ago which destroyed my GT4 only served to increase my loyalty to the FCA due to the concern the people in the club showed towards me over the period I was in hospital
That’s a pretty pathetic number of voters, considering there are 1000+ members. I wonder how many received no voting papers at all
Exactly - we had a club drive and lunch yesterday and I asked had everyone done their papers - very few had bothered... When I mentioned the issue with committee minutes not being available quite a few sat up startled. Too late for this time, but I’m certainly hoping to see a lot more updates getting to members. Around 15 years ago at an AGM I mentioned the possibilty of a forum similar to this within the club website - maybe time to revisit this? Horsepower is too infrequent now to be a useful source of current information for members.
Excellent idea. My only request is to not put it on F-witBook or similar. Not everyone is on or wants to be on social media. And I'd guess amongst the Ferrari owning population, the % would be much lower than the overall.
Hmm,just a thought, whenever a meeting of any club is called you have to have a quorum for any decisions to be ratified........why then should it not be the case in the election of club representatives......it seems the same sort of thing to me. Less than half (or whatever the decided quorum amount is) the paid up club members then no decision should be made.....
If the process was carried out correctly, then the result is what it is. Unfortunately. We don’t want to start sounding like the Democrats in the US or the “Remainers” in the UK. However, it seems to me there are legitimate questions in terms of whether every member actually got their voting papers and the method of sending them out. Beyond that we must wonder why there are so many members who basically don’t seem to give a ****.
It’s a common problem throughout mate. Apathy. Why get off your arse and do something when you can sit back and accept the results. A lot of members are there for the latte’s and piss and moan about leadership, governance, organisation of events, blah blah blah, but none of them get off their arses and put their hands up, let alone a simple thing like voting for the leader of our club. I don’t have anything against GR, but I know Ian personally, and in spite of that, still voted for him.. [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
