I got this message while trying to connect to FerrariChat at the office: "Not all traffic on the network is business-related. Some of this traffic is less than professional and in fact is unacceptable. This activity exposes the company to risks not only to our reputation and employee morale, but also to litigation. The extent of this traffic is not great; however, I am certain you agree any amount is too much. To reduce these risks, we are deploying a system within the next few weeks that will block access to such unprofessional and non-business related sites. You will receive an automated notice if a site is blocked. If you need access to a blocked site to conduct business, contact the Service Desk. They will assist you in obtaining approval to have the block removed." Rob - quick, give me a "business reason" to have the block removed. I guess I will have to stop going to the office and just work from home.
he has a couple other domains that point to fchat that get by firewalls I think. can't remember the names, but I'm sure somebody will chime in.
thebestemployee.com is one of them, however, I would refrain from using it at the moment. reason being, they are doing activity scans on the network and seeing what gets hit the most. I'd say if you wait 2-3 weeks, thebestemployee.com would be accessible and wouldn't be blocked.
Randy knows better than anyone, give it a month or so, then try... http://www.thebestemployee.com http://www.ferrari101.com http://70.85.40.84/~ferrari/forum/ I can also create a custom one for you, maybe www.seanisdoingwork.com or www.seansindustryportal.com.
Hmmmm.... I can just see it: "Boy, that Sean guy keeps hitting some website - SeanIsDoingWork.com. Well, I guess he must be doing lots of work. Let's give him a raise!" At least I have the option of working from home when not at the client site, so I'm free to surf whatever from here.... it just irritated me to see the "blocked" message when I haven't found any other site I regularly visit being blocked.
