Thanks Just noticed yours, looks great in matt black. The one i am building looked kind of cool in the matt basecoat paint so i will probably have a go at a matt one at some point.
Thanks Tony, yes its Zero Nero Daytona with Mr Super Clear on top. I still use spray cans for a clear coat as i cannot get the hang of clear through an air brush. The stripes are Dexters models and are Giallo Fly
Its very easy to use and although some people thin it, its fine to go straight into my airbrush which i think is 0.3. If you follow these instructions you cant really go wrong. If i can get a half decent finish with it i KNOW you will be able to get a great one http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/paint_guide.php?osCsid=b9c87e76d89ab4ba795c5d70d190fb19 Small tip i learnt the hard way: If you are spraying something and need to top up the paint in your airbrush make sure you really shake the glass container again fully before adding. I was spraying something Giallo Fly and topped up the paint after 5 mins without shaking it. I didnt realise that the red in the mix had began to settle already and it screwed up the paintwork as different parts came out in different shades.
Here are a couple shots of my wife's Mini Cooper touring car engine WIP. I'll take some of the body tonight and post later. (EDIT: and by "body" I mean the car, not her ) She's done the vast majority of the work herself. It's nice to spend time with her doing this while I work on my F2001. Here are some photos of the latest project I just finished. This is the Dino 246 Lemans 1972 body with flares and extra vents/scoops. I will have it on display at the Ferrari Expo 2010 along with several other projects I am finishing up. This will not be a kit. Steady on! - I grew up on those engines! Helluva lawnmower!.... The 1275cc version with the "MG" (large valve) head was the *best* - What's worrying is I can still remember the casting # for that head! - 12G295. Do I need help? Congrats to the wife btw - Looking good! Cheers, Ian
Very nice looking Ferrari models!! Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2010 model/photo contest-Chicago April 24th 2010
"SP is built from old 1/24 Q-Model kit OOB" Can you tell me about the wire wheels, they look as if they are hand laced? Gary
They came with the kit. Separate hub, rim and brass spoke material. Each spoke is glued separately. Time consuming and a pain in the a$$, but they look good IMO. -Niko Image Unavailable, Please Login
