Nice work everyone. The 612 looks alot better with a short chassis. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2010 model/photo contest -Chicago April 24th 2010
Fine tuning the bodywork around the new sail panels and will duplicate the side vents to place two in the hood. Also decided to shoe in a V12 from the 599. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just browsed through the whole thread again and can't believe how much I've improved. I'm still VERY impressed by everybody's work, and it gives me something to strive to. Thanks again for everybody sharing pics and tips! I started another project similar to what you guys are doing, but I can't really share it yet. Nothing really special, but it should turn out nice. Happy building guys!
Way to go Latsyrc! Finally finished this project which began in 2005. As you can deduct from my progress thread some changes were made along the way. I chose to make it a curbside, 6 speed stick, changed the wheels to Aoshima 20" Traffic Star RTM's painted Testors Magnesium metalizer. Body color is Pontiac Lucerne Blue rather than the Azzurro California.I also reshaped the side windows. The chassis is painted Tamiya TS Gunmetal. The seats and mirrors are from 599. I put a small red, white and green Italian stripe on each mirror. The brakes are F430 duplicates. The body was finished off with MSM Creation and Crazy Modeler emblems. The kit itself is pretty shoddy...lot of warpage and the chassis is very poorly designed and engineered. The body needed a lot of block sanding to get rid of the waves. Now working on my first 1/12th, the 312T4 by Tamiya. There seems to be so much prep work on these parts, the mold lines are terrible and any parts that need glueing together dont align very well I spent 1-2 hours just getting the oil tank to look good as the joins were so misaligned. Ive spent a fair while on the engine parts but as they are mostly still bare plastic there isnt much point in taking pics Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This was just a bit of fun, it is supposed to look like a 250 GTO 'barn find'. I built this Revell kit when i first started modelling a few years ago but would never finish it as i hated it. I decided to make it dirty and rusty (yes i know they are supposed to have an alloy body ) to save the whole thing from going in the bin. Its by no means the pride of my collection but i had some fun doing it. At some point in the future i am going to start a kit as a barn find and do a proper job, this was just a 'taster' I need to find a better way to get flat looking tyres. The tooling in the days when this kit was made was still rather crude....unlike their later simplified but super-precision kits.
The date inside the cowling says 1980 so its older than me. Im enjoying taking my time getting it as good as i can so its no problem really.
Hello guys, i repost here my last work. This is the ugly Revell kit, i tried to do something good. I used the Hobby Design PE set, Scale Production 20" BBS wheels, painting is deep metallic blue and tan interior. I modified the arch wheels, rear bumper and super detailled interior and engine. Now the photos. Very nice work. That is one of the better Revell kits. Your interior is well done. Its looks almost like leather. Welcome to the Ferrarichat model section. Keep the model photos coming. Also check http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=927 for even more great builds. They also have some amazing modelers. Very nicely done! I did this kit a while back as a practice to get back into modeling. Mine is pretty embarrassing. Glad you did it some justice, and I love the interior work!
Beautiful, masterful work on that 612. The Revell kit may be on the crude side, but as more people are proving, one can produce a stunning model from it.
Many thanx to all you, now the 100% completed model. Max Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
