Ladies & Germs: We tried to do this last year, but the rain made the whole shebang pointless. So let's see if we can't do it properly this year. At 11:30 let's all meet outside, about 20' or so away from the main entrance to the museum. That's up above all the cars on the lawnon the pavement. There's usually a good chunk of empty space up there. We can at least meet each other and say hi. If folks are so inclined, we can choose to go get lunch en masse and chow down together. But at least we can all put faces to names. Maybe get a cute group photo even. If for some reason 11:30 is a bad time let me know and we'll try some other time, though I can't imagine why it would be a problem for most folks. Ciao, Doody.
Does the show start at 12? I might come by at 1130 to take some pics of the cars. I'm so anxsious, that i'll be there as soon as possible. You taking the 550?
the event runs 09:00-14:00. you can find all the details on the various web sites: http://www.mot.org/Events/lawn.html http://www.mot.org/Events/ItalianCarDay.pdf http://www.evite.com/pages/invite/viewInvite.jsp?event=IJFZDSDIILWUQKVLEJKJ&inviteId=WEDWKXMYAEYQLTNGLQPP&showPreview=false&x=189734994 doody.
Hey Doody, I'll be there if Christine lets me out of the house. She is on call that day so I doubt I can make it (baby duty!). That really sucks. Birdman
OK, I'll be there with child and sans Ferrari. (Mom is not too cool on putting the baby in the Ferrari, but talk about making the car into a chick magnet! Most women couldn't care less about the Ferrari but they sure dig babies!) ;-) Just as well, the carbs are apart and I won't be able to get them all back together by the weekend. See you there! Capt...you bringing Devin? Birdman
Non-Ferrari owners ok to stop by? I plan on being at the show anyway but thought I should ask. I've got my kitted out Fier - nevermind.
The event is actually a fundraiser for the Museum. It's open to the public, for a nominal entree fee ($5?). So come on down! vty, --Dennis
i'm not bettign on the weather just yet. i'm watching weather.com, accuweather.com, et. al. and they've all been changing their sunday forecasts every six hours or so. also remember that we're only talking about five hours (0900-1400). the best forecast i've seen so far is a 30% chance of scattered showers. that's manageable. clearly there's a front coming through, but it sounds like it's not an obvious one to predict - we're getting the edge of it or something. doody.
Any and all forecasts this w/e are basically useless this weekend. It's what you see is what you get like it or not. And the meterologists would probably admit that if they could. K.
i'm with kenny on the useless weathermen. but things are looking a bit more positive on weather.com at least, fwiw (which isn't much!). doody.
I delivered the former Bill Jenning's 360GT to Neal Heffron yesterday. Neal will have it on display this weekend. Look forward to meeting some FChat people Sunday.
weather.com now says scattered t storms. but the chance of rain went down to 40% from 50% so i guess that means its looking better.
not sure what you're looking at, but here's the latest hourly forecast for Brookline MA from weather.com for the relevant time period tomorrow. it's a modest improvement over the prior one i posted yesterday. and fwiw, we haven't seen anything but some tiny spitting today and it was effectively the same forecast as tomorrow (if not worse). so fingers are definitely crossed..... doody.
click on the "more details" button and you'll get hourly. oh, and maybe get a real computer too used to bleed six colors, doody.
yea hourly still said t storms on some parts. but then again they did say rain today and i still havent seen any? so i guess we wont know until tomorrow. ... this is real computer lol. the 800Mhz imac :/ i use my laptop which is a pc but oh yea.. its broken right now for the fourth time. ill assume rain or shine ill at least see your 550 there. anyone know what FoNE is bringing? i guess that who brought the enzo last year?
