for all the interested, here goes the myth of the devil's bridge and the devil's stone:

many years ago, the inhabitants of the canton Uri, which always tried hard to find a way over the "st. gotthard" pass, but never were able to cross the canyon of "Schöllenen", started negotiations with the devil to help them. they finally agreed that the devil will build the bridge over the canyon, but the soul of the first being which would cross the bridge should belong to the devil.
the devil started to work hard and the closer the end of the construction came, the more desperate the inhabitants of Uri became. who should sacrifice himself for the new bridge?
but finally, one had a great idea. when the day of termination and reckoning came, they sent a billy goat over the new bridge.
the devil got so upset that he grabbed the biggest stone nearby (the devil's stone) and tried to destroy the new bridge by throwing the stone on it. unfortunately he failed and the stone felt all the way down to almost "Göschenen" at the beginning of the "Schöllenen" road.

    nice, isn't it?

    ..thats absolut correct: 2-4 wheels!
I will try to get used in my new toy till August.
With the 308 I was damn fast in the mountains (short wheel base, light and easy to handel).
Hope I will find the key to bring all the horses on the road with the testa;-)
I won`t be the first with this one but for sure not the last.

Yes, sorry Trevi I know its NOT a race...its a parade thru your beautiful country ....but it will not be the same after we left it

    Ton et all,

I'd love to be there, although I'm not sure if I can arrange it (but I'll probably will).

I like Ton's idea, if you guys agree with it we can make a Jens Haller Memorial drive.
I've always wanted to visit Jens's grave, so maybe we can arrange something for that aswell. I'm sure Roel wants to be there aswell although he hasn't been online for a long time.

Love the idea of a second European Fchat meeting, keep us posted on everything that needs to be arranged and I'm sure we can help one way or another.

    Bart

edit : Trevi, those pictures are awesome. I wish we had roads like that over here. All we got is a highway trough flat land, completly boring.

Yes off course, for both Jens and Amar.
It's just that the complete meeting was organized by Jens, and we (at least I did) spoke more with Jens then Amar. But you're completly right, Amar should be memorized aswell.

I wanted to call it the JH memorial drive because Jens was the organizer of first European Ferrarichat meeting. He spend a lot of time in the organisation of the evnt. But it is just an idea.

The visit of the grave can be organised easily. I don't think that we have to connect that to this beautiful event that Trevi and Wolfgang are organising. I'd rather go there on a quiet moment with Bart, Roel and other people that want to go.

    Trevi,

The pictures that you showed are beautiful. Switzerland is such a beautiful place for such an event. I definitely want to go. What I meant with the speeding is not that we have to race. It is just that I know from Ferrari meetings that people easily step on it and break the law.

I am looking forward to more details about this event. It is absolutely a fantastic idea.

    Ton,
I`m not the organizer! All the honour is only to TREVI!!!
He is the man behind the idea and all the work which must be done.
    I`m just a poor bonker and time-waster.....;-)

on pass roads you cannot avoid speeding ;) it's impossible, but due to the very twisty roads it is usually not so much against the law by physical reasons ;)

but details will follow later, first i'll take care of the organization :)

to be serious, for one day with many participants it's too much (about 300 km). i can do it alone though ;)

i think a net driving time of 5 hours a day may be enough, lunch will be about 2 hours and you have to make many stops for taking pics and enjoy the beautiful mountain world.

however, is see no better solution than making the nufenen twice, even if it is not very spectacular.

day one: andermatt - st. gotthard - nufenen - grimsel - susten - andermatt
day two: andermatt - oberalp - lucomagno - nufenen - furka - andermatt

    any thoughts?

    Trevi,

Need to check with Zoe that we don't have any weddings to go to on that date (it's a crazy time aytthe moment - we have had 7 this year!..nice, but expensive)), but almost certainly yes, that will be fine, and count me in. This trip looks like it will be fantastic!

    Great idea.
