This site seams to be running very slow any updates going on?
I would guess it is because of GibbyGate. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=204329 It has become an international incident.
We've noticed everything a little slower since upgrades a couple weeks ago. I reported to my admin yesterday and he looked into it and nothing stood out. I'll speak to him again. thanks.
I guess traffic is up more than I expected because of the "pee on Ferrari" thread. Unique visits yesterday were about 15% higher than normal and new registrations are up. I imagine today will be higher than yesterday. Here are new user registrations... July 01, 2008 32 July 02, 2008 41 July 03, 2008 34 July 04, 2008 30 July 05, 2008 29 July 06, 2008 36 July 07, 2008 41 July 08, 2008 42 July 09, 2008 67 Guess this serves as a little load test and I'm not happy with the results as even when this settles down we'll reach these traffic levels within 6 months based on our long term growth rate.
Wow Rob, good problem to have! But man, the past couple days have been excruciating...one more thing to blame on Gibby I guess...
It's taking me about 10 sec to open a thread. This just started recently. I'm glad the membership is growing but I have the "Need for Speed" !!!
Rob, didn't we have a competition about when fchat would hit 1 million or something of the sorts? With the amount of traffic from this Ferrari pee, I think we'd have a winner by now?
Seems to me it often slows down a lot right around lunchtime on the west coast... around the same time as you posted.
For you server geeks, we turned off Keep Alive in Apache. I don't know exactly, but I think the setting is good to have turned on for servers with less traffic as it keeps user sessions active and less loading for each reused session. However, there is some threshold where using Keep Alive will make your server run slower because of higher traffic and too many sessions. Someone more technical can explain it better or offer their opinion, but it seems MUCH faster now with Keep Alive off.
THe site was VERY slow this morning (Kuwait time) probably between 1 am and 3 am Texas time... but it seems better now... I figured I was trying to access during a back up, or an update or something. Mike in Kuwait
Keep me updated, far as I know things were fixed last month, this is first I've heard of new reports. Jonas, P Ferrari thread LONG story short was 2 drunks in Canada peed on a Ferrari and put video on You Tube, people were tracked down, most of internet world moved against them, gang mentality took over and it was just going to far. Before I closed the thread our traffic was up about 40%.
Still slow here. More often than not, I have to click the Refresh several times before a page would load. I'm not sure if the problem is from my end or yours. I seem to be able to connect to other sites ok.
