PLEASE HELP. I seem to have the most peculiar of problems. For the last couple months, I have not been able to access Fchat from home. At all. I can access fine from work, but not home. When I type the address (or its, ahem, alternatives) into my browser, one of two things happen (1) page not found or just nothing happens or (2) I get redirected to a web search engine (usually porn, which, hey, I'm not necessarily against it, but I'm really just trying to get on Fchat!!) I've run spyware/ad-ware quarantine programs on my machine, no help. I've check my Norton/Symantec web security stuff as best as I can -- can't see why Fchat would be blocked. I've tried getting on using both Explorer and Firefox (I have a PC, not a Mac). Again, my internet at home works fine otherwise.

Any creative solutions here??? I can't spend a lot of time on here at work, so I have periodically check in for answers. If you know what could be going on and are able to take the time to PM me, that would be VERY helpful so I know there's help out there.

    Thanks!!!

I try to enter ferrarichat.com but it loads for a little then just says page not found, and it says that over and over for hour's but if i leave it alone for a while then it work's, but if you cant ever go on it from home maybe you locked the site or something not sure...

The same thing happened to me this morning. I've been trying to view FChat for the past 2 1/2 hours but it wouldn't come up until now. I tried multiple computers, multiple IP's, Ferrari101, thebestemployee, etc... Nothing worked! I suspect others are also having the same problem.

Mike, this is unrelated to the first 2 posts on the thread. This morning they did a chassis change on the server and it was down longer than expected, about 4 hours (4-8am Central). The swap was completed and all is good now, shouldn't have any reoccurring problems related to this.

I may have also experienced the same thing, but for me only at work. It works most of the time, but sometimes it will spin for a minute, then give a DNS type error. I have assumed it is related to the company setup.

Try a few things for me at home. When you can't access www.ferrarichat.com, try our alt domains www.thebestemployee.com or www.ferrari101.com.

    Thanks,
    rob

Rob, thank you. I've tried thebestemployee repeatedly, to no avail. I will try ferrari101.com tonight and hope it works, though I suspect it won't, as I think there really is something very odd going on with my machine. We'll see. It's been annoying to say the least.

Anyone got any other ideas on this??? Nothing works. No way to get on Fchat or any of its other names at home.
Have run adware programs and gotten rid even of pesky viruses, but nothing I do changes the situation.
Any help would be appreciated. What the hell kind of block could I have inadvertently put on Fchat??

you may want to take a look at your host file.

check in this location (assuming you are running windows 2k/XP/Vista):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

and choose to open the file "hosts" with notepad. (may need to show hidden files to view it)

There should be many lines with "#" at the beginning... this is just annotation and should leave those lines alone. After that, there should be a line containing:

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    Anything other than those... delete.

Also, try clearing your web-browsers cache, then try opening ferrarichat again.

try to see if you're getting the name resolved from your machine.

From a cmd window (Start, Run, cmd <enter>) enter "ping www.ferrarichat.com"

Pinging ferrarichat.com [74.86.28.138] with 32 bytes of data:

then your getting the name resolved correctly - if you get another IP address back then check your host file. if you don't get any ip address in the [] brackets, then we can look into dns issues.
