I leave on Monday, so from after the race till I leave, I'm just going to let the rat race pass me by. Good time to grab a few beers and relax.

Will be there from Thurs. - Sunday and sitting in Sec. 31. Haven't seen anyone sitting there yet, so i'm hoping it'll be OK. This will be my first ever GP. Can't wait!! I'll be driving up the 993.

Does anyone know if they still close off Crescent St. the day of Qualies for the Porsche club? I'm hoping to park there that day.

FYI...the official schedule has been posted: http://grandprix.ca/schedule.html

I've rented them twice last year (Canada/Silverstone). They're awesome! I had some minor signal strength issues in Montreal, but it was great to be able to have the live timing and camera coverage for any driver I wanted (subject to FIA putting cameras in select cars).

I also brought an audio splitter so my wife and I could share one..worked great, and I've got my reservations for this year's Canadian and Belgian GPs...try it..I don't think you'll regret it!

You mean Peel, not Crescent (although I'm pretty sure Crescent gets closed as well, but not for car clubs). Peel will be closed to vehicle traffic from Thursday to Sunday. So far, all I know is that the street belongs to the Luigi Ferrari club on Thursday (from 3PM until midnight). I'll let you know if/when I hear anything more.

3rd time up in Montreal for the GP and here's what I've learned about restaurants: If you're looking for the scene, you'll find it at places like Globe, Ferreira Cafe, Milos (think Milos just opened this year, same concept as the Milos in NYC) and Bice. If you want to be a bit more removed but still have a top notch meal, I'd recommend Toque - ate there 2 years ago and the food was excellent, very nouveau. Not up to par on brunch spots.

As most everyone here knows, this coming weekend is the Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal.

We've got a group of EIGHTY (80!) tifosi from New England going up and invading Canada together to enjoy the spectacle and parties and excitement, including our own Mr. Rob Lay, who will delivering our Saturday dinner banquet address on how to race a 355 Challenge with a bunch of Corvettes! :)

We're staying at a nice suite hotel in the center of town, and sitting together in a block of 80 seats in the middle of the hairpin. Alas, due to some last minute conflicts, a few members of our group have had to change their plans, so we have a few tickets and hotel rooms still available. If you're interested, please let me know asap. Many of us are heading up Thursday, and we have group dinners and other activities planned.

Please shoot me an email if you're interested, and I'll send you the details: BigHeadDennis at gmail dotcom.

    Thanks,

So, where is everyone staying? On that note, does anyone know where some of the drivers and team bosses are staying? I think it'd be fun to run in to Ron Dennis for the second year in a row.

Do they not have to pit walk on Thursday for those with race tickets anymore? I can't find anything about it on the official website.
