Let me start by saying I really do not know if this is the "right" location for this thread or not however, I have purchased a 6-volt F430 for my daughter. Car is awesome, runs well and I am sure she will love it.

That being said, as the winter days of Wisconsin are soon upon us, when I am storing this for the winter do I need to do anything to ensure that the battery stays in good condition? Currently it still has some charge in it (charged it up to make sure it worked) so since it will now sit for a good while, do I need to disconnect the battery, drain the battery, etc?

This is my first experience with a kids electric car, any advice is appreciated!

The battery is a sealed lead acid type, it is best to fully charge the battery and disconnect it from the car. Avoid the battery freezing, a stable temperature of around 15 degrees C, 59 degrees F for storage is best.

So my advice would be fully charge the battery, remove it from the car and store in a cupboard in your house, best to top up the charge every 8-10 weeks. Trickle charging is the ideal option if you have a 6 volt trickler charger, but I wouldn't go out and buy one. Simple storage of the battery is fine.

Thank you! Much appreciated, the car (and battery) will be inside so no worries on the temperature. Definitely do not have much battery knowledge so am thankful for the information.

No problem, the most important thing about lead acid batteries is they should always be above 95% charge, they hate being at any state of discharged and you will shorten it's life if you do. This is the completely different than Lithium or Nickel batteries we are so used too.

Best to charge the battery after every use too, this will maximise it's life. Once you take charge out of a lead acid you should put it back in ASAP.
