I am currently looking at couple of 458 at Ferrari of Central Florida (Orlando). They are an authorized official Ferrari dealer for Orlando and nearby area. Need advice please:

    1) I was wondering if you have had positive or negative experience with this particular Ferrari dealership Ferrari of Central Florida (Orlando). Apparently, they are under same ownership as Ferrari of Tampa as well. Can you please share your experience?

    2) As you can imagine, Authorized Ferrari dealership charges more than non-F dealer. I am looking at 2 very similar 458 in same exterior color with similar interior (carbon seats, carbon inserts, sill, etc) with similar mileage (8K - 10K mi). But the F dealer charges about $8K more for their car. Do you believe it worth buying from authorized F car dealer vs. Non-authorized dealer? This is going to be my very first Ferrari so I'd like to have a better piece of mind buying from authorized dealer. After all, Ferrari of Central Florida offers me the PPI (27 points inspection AND compression test) at no cost to me. What do you think? It looks like they're showing a good gesture for me doing the PPI and compression test at no cost to me. Or is that pretty much standard procedure for any Authorized Ferrari dealer to do the PPI 27 points inspection AND compression test on all of their cars for sale?

    3) I was advised by many friends who are long time F car owners that 5% - 6% is an average typical discount to get off of F car dealer, is this true? What is the most discount % you usually can negotiate with authorized Ferrari dealership? Is expecting 8% - 9% discount still reasonable? Please advise. Thanks!

A 458 is a very reliable car. I see no reason for a compression test - they don't have any issues as other models that warrant this such as a 355.

A PPI done by the seller is typically a conflict of interest.

The price you negotiate will be based on many factors, one being if the car is on consignment. I never heard of a set % discount - each deal will vary.

    Good luck. :)

Good advice above. I will only add that authorized dealers tend to get the better cars. If you are considering both cars, be sure to examine and test drive each one. Often despite similar specs and appearances, differences in the two will become apparent after you do that.

Correct. Good dealerships tend to send so, so cars to auction, or other used car outlet's. Look at there other inventory and note general quality. If it's exceptional then at least your starting in a positive Environment. As noted above post PPI should not be done by the seller.

I know the Ferrari of Central Florida dealership, they serviced my 458, and I ordered and purchased a 488 Spider from the last year. They have also installed after-market items on both of my cars. I like their dealership, and have always found everyone I've encountered to be polite, friendly, professional, and helpful. I don't know what your future plans are regarding Ferrari, but it's always helpful to establish a relationship with a dealership, and in that regard I have no hesitation recommending Ferrari of Central Florida.

I also wouldn't pass up a car I wanted at a dealership to save $10K considering what these cars cost.

I agree with the posts above I would feel more confident purchasing a car from a Ferrari dealership over a dealership that is not authorized. They have a reputation to uphold and now a days bad online publicity can really hurt business. I would also do the ppi from a outside source.

Reguarding the "discount" I would say they usually don't move much 5k more or less has been my experience.

i'm working with them now and they seem to be very helpful. they also sent me maintenance records of a car that was serviced at their location although i bought it from a private party. i thought that was a solid move

I have been dealing with this family and there dealerships since the late 80's, and purchasing from them since the early 90's. I have purchased from several different Ferrari dealerships over the years, but have never had the level of service I have from the Triassic family and there dealerships. Feel free to reach out to me if I can be of any further assistance.
