Hey guys. Some of you may remember me and my early Cavallino collection from a few years ago. I'm in the process of moving and I came across an extra of Issue 2 and wanted to get a sense of the market for it. I don't need to get into the cheap sales talk, but the issue has been meticulously cared for and you won't find a single crease, smudge, or stain. So let's call it excellent condition. This isn't so much an advertisement but more of an attempt to get a feel for the market for these magazines. I've seen the market soften a bit on sites like Albaco, but I didn't know if this was true across the board. As some of you may remember, I'm a Porsche guy (I can see you guys loading your guns now), so I don't deal with Ferrari gear too often.

I really don't need to deal with the bull**** of eBay or Craigslist, etc. I would like to see this go to a collector that has that one box unchecked on their Cavallino roster. Or maybe you just really love the issue. Either way, I've taken great care of it and I hope the future owner will too.

Anyway, hope you guys are doing well. I always love jumping on here every few months to catch up and see what's new. Feel free to private message me and we can talk further and I can send over some pictures.

    Thanks for the help!
    -Chris

    Welcome back!

What does Albaco show now for it??

I'd wager somewhere in the $300 range?

I have not been pursuing completion of my Cavallinos, it faded as a priority behind running the actual cars (308GTB).

Thanks Tex! Good to see you're still active. And yes, the literature and memorabilia always takes a back seat to the real deal!

Albaco has discounted this one from $795 to $550 - I can't tell if he's trying to dump inventory if the market has really softened, if you know what I mean.

There have been a lot of Cavallinos hit ebay recently...hard to say "why" exactly.....

Thanks, hanging in there ...but it has quit being "fun" with the economy and public sentiment as it is.
Although I look at the crowd pics from the Art Car Parade and there are STILL some young enthusiasts out there!

If only I could pay my bills with smiles.....

Gotta love the guy that out of 120,000 spectators, had the 'right shirt" on!

I know what you mean. It's a difficult time to be an sports car enthusiast... the term "the 1%" gets hurled left and right. I just got back from a rally up in New Hampshire, we brought a tastefully modified '79 SC, but you can definitely sense a split disposition from passersby: some love you, some despise you.

Do you have any events on your calendar coming up? It would be great to meet some of the guys from this forum... it's like hanging out with the Jets when you're a member of the sharks :D

Glad to hear you're still out driving and enjoying your collection.

As for the Cavallinos, I'll probably just hold onto it after doing some research. Looks like the market is a bit soft, understandably. I remember seeing a copy of Issue 2 go for close to $1000 on eBay soon after I acquired my collection, but the prices are a far cry from that now.

I can't believe anybody would pay $1000 for a magazine with information form the late 70's.

I wouldn't.. I love Cavallino, and have an allmost complete set, but I never paid more than 65 euro's for any of them (only missing 2, 5, 7 and 8).
