This is what happens when you have a lawyer running an emergency response agency. Their training is in process, not in action. General Honore should be head of FEMA, Brown can go back to playing with horsies.

FEMA told my sister in law that her damage wasn't enough so she was not going to receive ANY aid. When asked, they admitted that nobody had actually seen her house. They just made their decision on the rest of her neighboorhood.

The $2K debit cards were initially supposed to go to EVERY adult who evacuated to cover expenses. (I myself am almost tapped) Now they are going to the people in shelters first. And if they think your damage isn't bad enough, you wo't get squat! I wonder how many of the looters wound up in the Astrodome and will now get 2 grand?

And don't even waste your time trying to contact FEMA. By phone, the recording says they are very busy and then hangs up on you. By the web, well my connection has been timed out more than an unruly 8 year old!!
