The other night I was waiting behind a Cadillac in my Jaguar. She was turning left and had blocked the right turn lane. She was taking forever to turn and a large line was building behind us. For some reason (still can't figure it out) she decided to back up. I laid on the axx hole blower, but she backed right into me. I had minor damage done to my bumper. We exchanged insurance info and I copied all her info on her drivers license. The next day I tried to buff my bumper, but her white car left a mark on my black bumper. She has one of those cheap auto insurance companies that offer minimum coverage. I own a company and lease this car as a tax write off, I have around twelve months left on the lease. Should I turn it in to the insurance company or just live with it? Seems like a big hassle just to get the bumper fixed??

Incompetent drivers need to be made to suffer the consequences of their actions. Yes it will be a hassle, but consider it a public service to make her insurance pay and drive her rates up. Maybe that will be the last straw and she will give up driving.

This happened to my best friend just a few months ago. Some guy decided to back up at a stop sign and into his car. THEN the guy who was backing up said my friend ran into HIM !! Since it was his story vs my friend's story the best the insurance (AAA) could do was 50/50.

Give it to your insurance co. Let them handle it. They'll come out do the estimate and write you a check to get it fixed. You may have to wiggle them around a little to really get it done right, but you're going to have a better chance with them than with her company.

If she backed into you, then it's her fault, she pays in full, you pay $0.00.

Might take a while to sort out, but better to get the car fixed than have the leasing company charge you back for it when you turn it in.
