I get tired of using towels or blankets to protect the fenders while working on the car. They aeem to slide around alot. So I been thinking of looking for decent fender covers. Any opinions on this? or pics of yours? Maybe some nice Ferrari covers? Or is this not a good idea

Like to see what others are doing as well

I use a 100 cotton USA large terry cloth bath towel underneath a run of the mill fender cover from jegs etc

Wow, I use the large Harbor Freight towels also but never thought to sew them together. What a great idea!!!!

I wear safe clothes but I still prefer something over the fender For protection

The towels prevent scratches etc and the vinyl fender cover prevent a tool causing a small ding etc ..it also holds the towels in place

I do like changing my towels for the microfiber ones mentioned above but not sure the weight (which my towels are heavy) would be a problem not staying in place in my setup

I think the big grey harbor freight drying towels are pretty heavy. Not sure what you use today...

They are a little heavy but I like the thickness and the ties keep them in place. And they’re easy enough to wash after a job.

I have to rethink my solution after seeing the animal outfit above though. :D:D

You can use 2" wide 3M 101E masking tape to secure towels along the edge of the engine bay. They are forever slipping off of the Spider rear panels.

Just do some cquartz ceramic protection over the panels and then wear your bloody tshirt and no chains/belts/ metals/watches to scratch it.. problem solved. You can look at mine with a magnifier... no real deep scratches, and I've been leaning on them a lot.

I have that too, but made sure to remove the magnets inside so they don't dent anything... Basically its just a large towel now that likes to slide, but its ok.

I find that sometimes give micro scratches due to the fabric .. I use them on top of a nice cotton bath towel or maybe as others suggested ..big micro fiber towels

Agreed, those moving blankets are not paint friendly. they can definitely leave small scratches and and swirls if used alone.
