Hi everyone, I just ordered a pair of the fender shields for my 348 spider and wanted to know if anyone has any measurements for placement? Maybe someone has asked this before but I could not find anything. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Jeff aka Darkkaangel
Darkangel.... good question. I have an additional question. My 348 doesn't have the shields, but I would like to add them. So, placement is a primary question. But I feel compelled to ask, are the shields standard from the factory, or is it something optional on any car? Also, what is the best source for 'real' long-lasting shields as opposed to $4 each stickers that come off in a strong wind after 3 weeks? Mike in Kuwait
instructions are at the end of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-Genuine-Emblem-badge-Resin-Shield-emblems-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ50447QQihZ017QQitemZ270165651499QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I got the resin shields and am quite happy
These questions have been discussed many times on this forum. Do a search on fender + shields and you will find a lot of info. I recently ordered a set of shields from yomagic and think he sell the best shields. Not original but looks so good on my 355 GTS
I had the vinyl ones on and they looked pretty good. But the metal ones look so much better. I got mine from Dan at Ricambi America. The placement is 2cm from the crease of the fender to the top point of the shield. 9cm from the edge of the fender to the largest side of the shield. I will post some pics tommorrow.
Hey Jeff, where did you order your shields from, I am thinking of getting them for my car too. Are they the stick on type or magnetic?
I got them from Scuderia shop based in the UK. OEM Scuderia Ferrari wing badges that are installed on brand new Ferrari road cars as an optional extra. Coated with a strong thick plastic resin material, which will withstand tough weather conditions and are hard wearing that will last for years. Strong sticky back adhesive, which once installed will be difficult to remove, however it is possible. Once installed your car will look amazing and they really uplift the cars overall appearance. Size : 10.2cm L x 7.4cm W Imported directly from the Ferrari factory in Maranello Italy. Thanks for all help everyone. Jeff
And the few of us driving giallo cars............what do we do.........not a great idea putting a yellow shield on a yellow car. Haven´t seen one so far. Are there black ones on the market? //B//
No sweat, looks fine on giallo http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=163610&highlight=fender+shield

I found a set of magnetic resin coated shields. I prefer this to the glue or tape. The shields were never a 348 option. However, on 355's a factory option in '98 '99 and standard on the Fiorano. There is one body shop in LA that actually made a jig to stamp the fender according to factory specs and then bolts them in as does the factory. Not cheap as the fenders are completely repainted. But like they say if you are going to do it do it right.
Shields were never a factory option on the 348 (with exception of the Euro only 1994 348 GT Competizione). But, since the fender dimensions are essentially the same between the 355 and 348, I would carefully measure off of a 355 with shields to get the proper placement. There are several threads on Fchat on proper placement on a 355 so you are safe to use those measurements. BTW, I had the resin sheilds on a 308...they look okay, but the proper cloisene ones look MUCH better. Spend the extra $$$ with yoshi at yo shield, you will not regret it. http://www.yoshield.com/
