Well, the fabrication shop just finished the buckets for my shields. I opted to go with a completely countersunk 288gto/F40 style recess that leaves the shields flush with the fender, as opposed to the factory stamped F355 style that still left the shields protruding. The paint shop will be welding them into place sometime tomorrow and I should have the car back early next week (also having the lowers and rear tail light panel painted).

My question. Can someone with a "shielded" F355 please get me the proper factory placement (measurements w/reference points). Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

    Nice.

As for placement just look at some pictures. It is about 3-4 inchec off the door and I believe it was 2 inches off the fold on the fender.

My suggestion is to make a photo copy of them and tape them in the right place to see where it pleases your eyes.

I had mine done on my 348. They came out great.

Chris, besides Martin's suggestion, the shields should already be curved to meet the curves in the fender. Take a look at some pictures to find the right spot. I sell the shields so I have had alot of experience with this.

Thanks guys. I have a pretty good idea where they go (within an inch or so), however I want them placed in the EXACT location where the factory recessed the F355. I know I am being anal, but this has become an expensive project so I want them to be perfect.
