    Hi all,

I came across the big scale 1/12 Ferrari models (Kyosho F40, Tamiya F50 and Enzo) when I was shopping in the hobby shop and fall in love with them. I am now trying to collect them slowly (they are expensive!) and few questions came to my mind:

    1) I am interested to buy the models in red. Can anyone please confirm if they are painted in the same red? The reason I am asking is because I want to put them side by side once I collected them all and it would be much nicer if their color is identical.

    2) In one of the previous threads, someone mentioned some of the Tamiya F50 have color problem (wrong red). How can I tell? I got my semi-assembled Tamiya F50 last weekend and it said it was produced in 2002 on the box. Does it have the correct color?

Sorry for the long post and thanks for the help!

Aaron (who has Kyosho F40 at the top of his "to buy" list since Tamiya Enzo is still very expensive)

I can't speak for the Enzo, as I don't have one... but the Kyosho F40 and Tamiya F50 (re-release, 2002 version) I have one of each and they match very nicely...

    Hi jelmer,

Nice pic and collection. One question though, I can't tell whether they are 1:87 or 1:43 or 1:18, let alone 1:12. A coin next to them for comparison would be nice.

The question was about 1:12 models? So the models on the photo are 1:12 models. :)

    But for comparising:

    1:12 enzo
    1:18 enzo
    1:43 enzo

Nice pix Jelmer... I agree the Enzo is slightly darker. This is apparent even "in real life", but its nothing to prevent you from collection and displaying them. I also have the Revell 250GTO in red, and all 4 look great together under glass.

If i was you, I would wait until Kyosho have released the Enzo. I have been very unlucky with the Tamiya Enzo and am on my 3rd model now and even thats fekd. I've got all three and the Enzo looks fabulous but is just nowhere in comparison to the quality due to it being plastic all over the place. My front suspension now collapses everytime someone picks it up and places it back down. Thats nothing compared to the rest of the problems I've had.

Sorry to put such a negative point on but I just thought it best you know some of the problems with the model. Go for the F40 then see where kyosho are with the Enzo at that point, I'd say its worth the wait but you know what its like when collecting models, impatience can get the better of us....

    Regards,

    Matthew

Wow, I want to go out and buy F40 plus Enzo after I saw your picture! They are FANTASTIC side by side! Thanks for the picture! One last question jelmer, is your F50 the semi-assembled version 2002 version?

Thanks for all the great responses, much appreciated, thanks all!

    Thanks! :)

My F50 is a semi-assembled model. I had to put the wheels, hood, enginehood and roof on it myself.

I own the Tamiya Enzo, and have been watching the suspension sag develop too. I knew abt the Kyosho Enzo, but I figured I'll grab the Tamiya for now anyways. I do anxiously await to see what they can create.
