Another "missing part" fixed. A part which I cannot give a name but on the last picture you can see the location. It was not necessary to work from a drawing: one of the two parts was delivered . So it was a rather easy job. The difference is less when it is painted After fixing this part I finished the whole sub assembly of the engine. The orange glow is caused by the lamplight Ton
Here is the last update of my part of the reconstruction of the missing parts which were not delivered by Promocom. The rest ( 2 hubs and 2 suspensions) is lath- and milling work and is done by someone else. The help and support out of the community in this kind of projects as fantastic!!! He finished already the exhausts After all this has been done there are still some bits and pieces but these will be made during the build. Well here are the last pieces: a piece of the suspension which needed some solder work. ...and a calliper One was delivered so I had an example. Its shape makes it a difficult part to reproduce. I decided to use slices ...and glue these together Than you glue all kind of parts to the calliper, put some paint on it and than this is the result Not a 100% copy but I am satisfied Ton
Ton, The differences between the calipers will hardly be visible when its built. Scratchbuilding a kit like this is like creating art, you are an artist! Imagine people like Barnett and Suber doing this in 1:43... fantastic! Hans
Factual this update is the start of this build I started with the engine. This collection of white metal parts is the engine block. The fitting of the parts is really bad. Hours of sanding and filing results in this :? A check to see if my self made gearbox is still fitting This kind of detailwork I like very much: approx 1 cm by 1 cm Here is the exhaust some else made and .......everything fits The block is heavy: more than 500 grams metric. It is also awkward to handle This is the solution an engine stand which can be turned. Here are some pictures of the current state of the engine Next step is the build of several sub assemblies of the engine Ton
It is a long time ago that there was an update on the build of this p**** in the a** kit. For the people who think: he has stopped ....I have bad news With several intervals I am now on a level that I think I have left all the mishap behind me. I will show here some pictures of the different stages of the car until today. The finished engine is the last picture I showed http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10860/DSC_0514.jpg but since than http://www.modelbrouwers.nl/albums/coppermine/albums/userpics/10860/DSC_0587.jpg the monocoque is ready http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g378/peperbus1/DSC_0798.jpg the cockpit is also ready http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g378/peperbus1/DSC_0800.jpg Gilles has put his helmet on the front wheel assembly http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g378/peperbus1/DSC_0835.jpg a "marriage" took place http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g378/peperbus1/DSC_0836.jpg ....and as a young foal on its feet for the first time next time all the air ducts, cowlings etc will be attached .....see you than! Ton
Patrick, be happy, congratulate yourself...pat yourself on your shoulder .....that you were not able to buy this kit The only kits that were manufactured about 4 or 5 year ago were complete....but still ill fitting. Ton
beautifull car but I am afraid that despite all the wonderfull detail many details are incorrect.... in my opinion the research on this car was not that great. Probably quite a bit came from the Protar kit.
