After Monaco, 0104E was sold to Bill Lloyd and still exists today as 0166ED. And the real 0104E (restamped as 0166ED) was replaced by the 225S s/n 0166ED previously raced by Bracco at Monaco. Then Castellotti crashed 0166ED (now restamped 0104E) at Vila Real on 6th July 1952 and NO, I don't say there is any connection with the Touring document dated from june and july 1952... The car was repaired and raced again by Castellotti in Targa Florio 1953, etc etc and was destroyed in 1955 Mille Miglia... I wonder if you have really read all my posts this evening ?? These four pics show THE SAME CAR and the last three show pics show what everybody says it was 0166ED. But again : how do you want to see 0166ED already in september 1951 ?? It's IMPOSSIBLE.
Again, the post #48 pic shows the barchetta that everybody claims it was 0104E. But as I said previously, it's the barchetta that had at this time identity of 0104E and was in fact the real 0166ED. May be it's speculating but if I'm wrong, I'm still waiting that you give me the s/n of the barchetta shown in the four pics on post #47...
Last post for tonight : May be the car crashed by Castellotti at Vila Real was his old barchetta (the one already raced in 1951 at Targa Florio) and not the Bracco's new one. You can see the triangular openings which make think to the future Piotti's car but could be very well the first barchetta in fact, I mean the ex-Targa Florio's one. In this case, as I said, the crashed car was the real 0104E. The replacement car was the real 0166ED and both identities were swapped after the Vila Real crash. So : - the real 0166ED was used after the Vila Real crash by Piotti, Castellotti etc with identity of 0104E, - and the ex-Targa Florio ex-Castellotti old car (real 0104E) was later sold to Bill Lloyd with identity of 0166ED. About Touring numbers plates : easy to swap... Yes, I know, I'm still speculating...
Thanks for sharing these. Seems like the 1952 Monaco °92 and Vila Real °16 are the same car with no grill and a misshaped front nose. I don't know where/when your pic is from, but this shows the actual race: http://img243.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=42080_0104ED-1952_GP_of_Monaco_Aston_Martin_Accident_3692-Eugenio_Castellotti_-1_122_209lo.jpg Furthermore, the car that Castellotti later raced in '53 had the exact same windscreen, just cutdown. Maybe it was just his preference, I dunno.

From Zagato official site (http://www.zagato.it/ukclferrari1.htm): Ferrari 166 Panoramica’s aluminum body was rebuilt in Italy by totally a handmade process: expert artisans handformed light aluminum sheets following the project. After a 24 months long work, this masterpiece is now completed and the quality level is even more higher than the “first” Panoramica body. The Ferrari 166 Panoramica Zagato was brought to a new life as prestigious collectible Ferrari. It locks up the value of Ugo Zagato’s aerodynamic studies during the 40s whom he applied to the high sporty level of a race Ferrari. Does anybody know any additional info? Was original 0018M chassis used? What's current condition of the project?
No, the chassis of 0018 M was NOT used. Another chassis, formerly used for a replica 166 MM Barchetta, was used for the new Panoramica. This project has been going on since 2008, for a collector in Northern Italy. Marcel Massini

Hello everyone, does anyone know where the car could be nowadays and in what conditions? It's said it's in south France. thanks
Interesting I thought that Zagato would not do reproductions of existing cars. The original Ferrari Panomerica 212 is currently privately held the repop sure does look better than the current unrestored origiinal though.
Interesting this new Panoramica! In an exhibition at the Museo Mille Miglia in 2017, the body was exposed (again) without a chassis etc. But the information sign in front of the Zagato body sald the missing chassis was the ex 166 Inter 0061S! Which seems quite remarkable! Chassis 061S was a 1950 Vignale coupe - was this used for a barchetta replica? Anyone on this issue, please? Perhaps Mr Massini? Ciao! Rudi
