I am in need of the two rear marker bezels for my 246 GT. Would prefer real steel with good chrome.

    Thank you!

I assumed he was talking about the USA reflector bezel. Originals are crappy plastic chrome.

I will respectfully disagree. Plastic chrome does not have the same luster as real chrome. This started where he could find real chrome bezels not chrome plastic bezels. Gary Bobileff makes a beautiful set that I've used a number of times.

In that case, if Gary makes them out of S.S. , that does not look like chrome either...o_O

… unless they’re chrome plated. ;)

Obviously plastic components can be made/plated with a very nice and lustrous chrome-like finish.
Most modern cars and countless bathroom/kitchen etc fixtures are good examples, although unless I’m mistaken, most aren’t conventionally “plated”, per se, but more like electro-statically vacuum formed and done not only over new materials, but also in large large scale productions.

I’m yet to see a nicely (i.e. acceptable) re-plated (old/used) plastic component in (vintage) cars.
OTOH, if anyone can point out to a re-plating shop that can provide a like-new finish on used plastic automotive parts, I’m all ears/eyes.

… same can be said of many items reproduced and sold for vintage Ferraris.
For example Daytona, BB, etc Cromodora trim rings (should be chrome plated instead of S.S.), tail pipe ends on Ansa exhaust systems (same), just to name a couple.

OTOH, authenticity has long been absent in vintage Ferrari and just about all restorations, regardless of make/model, so there’s no point to criticize any lack of it anymore.
