Why did Brandoli change the front end? The old one looks better imo. Looks like a whole new body.

Saw the name of Marcel Massini on this website.
Marcel, what do you know about this car and/or restoration?

The car (8249) as it is today was NOT restored by Brandoli. It was just brought to Brandoli for inspection (in July 2004), NO work was done there. Following the inspection in Modena-Montale (at Brandoli's) the car was brought back to France and partially restored in France, unfortunately with an incorrect nose. Not finished yet. I have researched the entire history of this car and obtained all old registration documents and many old photographs, including the ones published here and on the special website dedicated to 8249.

Thnx for the info, will the car get its proper nose?
Would be nice to see all four 'speciales' in one event.

As mentioned, the current owner chose to have the nose done in a different way than it was originally. Don't think it will get a "proper" nose soon.
8249 has NOTHING to do with the three real speciales 6701 (Chris Cox), 6885 (Preston Henn) and 7185 (Rob Walton), even if the current owner of 8249 thinks so. There were three and not four "Speciales".

That website was done by a friend of the current owner and they used my research material, photos and history and docs without even telling me.
