Thanks for sharing these pages. I really like Isaac's images. Does anyone in our European contingent know which one the German-registered "N-EU 531" (2 posts above) is? .
I have a silver sticker on my car, marked GTO as well, so obviously both colors exist. Question: I would like to check what the original tool kit includes, to see if I have all the parts. Was there for example a light bulb kit like the F40s included? What tools were included? Regards!
Original stickers I have personally seen: gold foil, red, silver foil, blue. Original tool kit does have light bulb kit. See my site www.joesackey.com (Galleria) for full tool kit. Cheers. .

Question for you all...I received a set of blueprints for the motor of my 288GTO (as pictured above) when I purchased the car in 2005...is this an original blueprint from the factory? Did each 288GTO have one from new? The car had 1200 original miles on it from new when I bought it. (I was told, by a friend of mine, that the tires probably still had the original air in them...lol). Thanks in advance..
Ive never seen a GTO delivered with engine blueprints, but Im always happy to be wrong and learn. Do they have an engine number?
I don't know, I've never looked, I'll have to check that out...However, it looks just like the blueprint in the pix above. Len
Thanks! Faboulus pictures on your homepage! I also have a temporary manual with handwritten date for my car, probably this was only in the beginning - low series charm! Regards!
I agree, could be a copy, but do you know if their were ever originals delivered with cars or not..the guy I bought my car from, had owned it since 1989 with 900 miles and all docs. came with the car at that time...the size of this blueprint sheet is approx. 38"X48" with a number of Ferrari "Cavallino" emblems embossed on reverse side (in blue, also)...looks original to me??? That's why I was wondering if anyone else had received this with their car??
Here are my temporary manuals that came along with the normal ones! Look a the handwriting! Regards! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
car should have gone off at 500ish, was right there about to get hammered at 500, but some doof (who shall remain nameless) decided to smack heads with someone on the phone till it hit 555, then said-doof pulled the rip cord and jettisoned to safety!<G> funny, when it was going up ,it was in 5 k increments, and the bloody blokes waiting for their 2mil dussenbergs were chuckling that it was going up in 5k increments and taking a bit. phone bidder was waiting till last moment every time to snip over said-doof. but i think it was actually 555 if im not mistaken. but 560 could have been right. i was in the room witnessing it all. then again, dont listen to me. im the one not smart enough to buy it. but a very nice car. anyone know what became of that enzo??
Compared to many GTOs I have seen, it was indeed a very nice car, an unmodified one to boot, complete with USA DOT & EPA releases. BTW I think the Enzo went $1.150 million (someone please correct me if Im off) and it was as-NEW, from the same stable as the 288 GTO. I managed to meet the GTO's sellers' representative when I was in Scottsdale on Wednesday and my discussion with him augmented my personal inspection of the car and helped me form the opinion that this particular GTO was indeed a nice car that has had a nice life. The original tires from 1985 are still on the car and they showed very little wear so the 16,800 kms traveled were undoubtedly very civil ones... this GTO has lived almost all its life in Houston, in the esteemed Jerry Moore and then John O'Quinn collections, where it was cared for by full-time curators in climate-controlled environs. Its condition hardly surprises . The buyer has the right attitude as he will not be touching the car until a major is completed by the Ferrari dealer where the car is headed directly. .
Interesting that the 288 came with a "space-saver," while the 308 and 328 came with a full-size. Any particular reason why?
Jerry J Moore seemed to enjoy the idea if one car was nice then having 7 of one model was even better. How many of the GTO's did he get his hands on? 35 TR's must have been some kind of record to...sharing space with all those F40's. CH
THE REASON FOR THE "SPACE-SAVER" TIRE WAS VERY SIMPLE..The main purpose for this car's existance was to race, that's why the build of 250 cars +, therefore weight was of big concern...ego the "light weight tire!! The reason for their not racing, 'til they were produced, the racing rules were changed and there was no place to race them.
