Spotted at Donnington, I believe this is His Lordship John Mexborough's 288 GTO. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think that it is. Mexborough's GTO (# 56769) is registered GTO 13, it would appear (although very difficult to make out from this angle) that the last digit to this plate is 'E'. Thus leading me to the conclusion that is likely to be 55179, at one point registered 7170 RE. Paul
R.E the past owner of 55179 is an active campaigner in various historic motoring events, competing at last years Goodwood Revival in a Fiat 8V. 7170 RE now belongs on a Porsche 911 that I saw at last years Silverstone Classic (in the paddock) The fact that the previous photo was taken in a paddock at a historic event reinforces the fact that this is 55179. The car is alive and well today (first pics), the last pic is from 1984. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7855 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Diablo, Is it an SV or SE30 Jota? Looks lovely and what about the raised rear lip on the back of the 288!
The 1984 picture, does anyone know what kind of car the white one is in the background? Dino on its right and 288 two along on the left. Seems to have its rear wheels covered by the arch. In fact its not a 288 on the left, dont have a clue what it is.

Every once in awhile I treat myself to a 288 thread - they are so special that I don't like looking at them too much... I'm always in awe. You guys have it good.
I think this is the first one ever listed for sale on f-chat..... I could be wrong though of course . http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=745 Erik
Here they are. Some 26 pages of incredible detail, the original application was granted June 1st 1985, and it was assigned Homologation number "B (for Group B) - 273" Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe 55179 was sold to Germany via Modena Motorsports and was seen also at Brands hatch last September.

I checked my notes for this car and it looks like this was the one delivered on export plates "EE.076.AK" to Alfred J.Gooding who registered it in the UK on "AJG 4" plates. There are images of the car when it lived in Thailand with its expatriate owner on "U5 8888" plates, and then back in the UK it was assigned "B 993 DUH" plates (or maybe that was before it left for the far east). Any additional info or corrections would be appreciated. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Delivered new in June 1985 to Alf Gooding of Newport, South Wales, UK on plates B993 DUH, and shortly thereafter re-registered on his own personal registration of AJG 4. Paul
