WOW!! Thank you very much. Post all you can. Interesting to see the inter-coolers are the smaller versions, like the standard 288 GTO units. Is this the car prepared by Tim Samways Racing? Clearly prepared for racing, without too much regard for originality, which I'm sure is what the owner wants. A real racing machine, this Evoluzione must be so much fun to own!
Bigger & better brakes, bigger wheels, down-force aids, this is a competition car that exists in all its purposeful rawness, without any form of subtlety or refinement whatsoever. Fabulous.
You did not get a close-up of the inter-cooler such as you could see the model number? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the owner just wants to enjoy the car. Originality comes second base i guess... The current owner uses the car very often at trackdays. This is were i was able to take these pictures. As you might see this car is indeed prepared by Tim Samways in the UK. You can visit their website: www.timsamways.co.uk Here are some more pictures... . Silly me! Just thought of something!! I will sent you the engine-picture to your private e-mailadres in Hi-res... Maybe you can figure it out. Just took a look on the hi-res and there some numbers on it... Regards, Maarten
Thank you! This is what this thread is for. Your contribution is much appreciated. I can see that the owner has been making subtle improvements to the car over time. Awesome. These Evoluziones are fearsome-looking things...
Maarten: Question answered! Thats a standard inter-cooler with mounting brackets adjusted. You have an e-mail...
I have to say that this GTO shares an astonishing stable of cars as owned & driven by the Leventis family, and cared for by Samways.
Maarten: thanks for your offer with Tim Samways. I would love you to ask him next time what the weight & performance of the car is. Here is what I have for the GTO Evoluzione (70167) of Yoshikuni Okamoto, Kobe, Japan: Engine type F114CK - 650 bhp @7,800 rpm Weight - 940 kg/2,072 lbs I understand with correct gears the car is good for 225 mph. Note that this car has the later series F40-type BEHR inter-coolers, and F40 LM seats. Let me know what you find out... Think of it for a good minute: 650 bhp & 2,072 lbs! I'd believe that. A F40 LM had more horsepower (About 720-900, depending on restrictors and boost settings.), but weighed about 500 pounds more and they would easily hit 229 mph even with all that downforce.
Just noted the car for sale on the internet. Joe, you serm to be more up to speed on this one. Care to share some details? Would be much appreciated Gr. Martin
I'm afraid I dont have many details on this one as Ive been focusing on dealing with a couple of others of late. But I am told it was in Japan previously. Best,
