I've had the privelage of seeing that car a few times. Don't tell Ron but I was even allowed to sit in it many years ago.

Sounds like it has been in 'safe hands' all these years! Seeing the picture I wonder who got EE 288 AK for their export plate? Probably wasn't on a GTO... CH

Joe, I hope that the reunion of GTO will be a great success, and you can beat the record of concentration GTO. Cross fingers. Nobody like you deserve it.
joe, never saw a final price is right estimate on the RM GTO. how did the sale on it go? did it sell?
Great job Joe getting 14 GTO's at the CI. Was a wonderful sight to see them there. Still wondering about the kid who just bought the 288 and had it trailered from Beverly Hills to the CI because it didn't have a radio. Oh well........... John
It was awesome to see your car at Concorso this year! The gathering was amazing! It was an experience to remember forever.
Thanks! 14 288 GTOs and 1 GTO Evoluzione, a world record gathering for the model. Thanks Joe. I noticed the car in the fourth and fifth pictures has side markers. Taking into consideration that there were no GTO's officially imported to the USA (?), would the requirements to make the car street legal vary from car to car or do some states require these to be fitted? I have never seen these on any GTO.
Aaron: That is Jim W's car. You have to consider that there was some latitude in the rules for DOT compliance, and with several compliance agents doing the work (Fritz, Englehardt, Pirrone, Clarke et al), there were several versions of a USA-legal 288 GTO. I'm noting that most cars are simply being taken back to Eu spec as nobody seems to care about (or enforce) their physical appearance...
