I asked because up here, there were all kinds of fishing stories/urban legends behind those stickers. Now I know better. However, I'll keep this tid bit for myself since the other stories are more entertaining. LOL!!!!

Fabulous Richard Owen pic showing how rearward & low the gearbox sits Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's the 18,000kms 2 owner car that I bought!! Well until I drove 5 hours to find out it was a particularly average higher kms car. Shame!!!
Great photo. Wouldn't fancy taking that over one of the many speed bumps that litter the roads around here.
The gearbox isn't really that low, it would take a real speed bump from hell to hit it. Further, the gearbox doesn't really extend behind the rear tires very much ... so you would also be protected if the speed bump had a "gradual" rise/fall (or on any incline that's not crazy severe).
If you slow down (as anyone would negotiating a speed bump) you'd have no problems a all in a 288 GTO. Can't say the same with the F40.
I am looking for a fuse panel for a 288 GTO if you know of one. Have tried having one repaired a few times and although it has rectified some faults, it is still not 100%. I know an F40 is very similar but there is one micro-resistor missing off an F40 board. If you know of one Steve, please could you let me know how I would go about acquiring it. Thanks
Hi Steve, i am currently looking for a 288 GTO fuse board if you know of one. I have been trying to get one repaired for a client and it is still having some issues. Thanks
I should have clarified: 52743 is now owned by an East Coast client of mine amongst a nice collection, its quite a special GTO. Here it is during the weekend of the 288 GTO Reunion we organized, driving in Carmel, California. Image Unavailable, Please Login
