54243 has belonged to a prominent Hong Kong based collector since June 2016, Although sold new in France it has also resided in USA and Japan. It was ostensibly sent back to UK this year for "refreshing". (LHD cars cannot register in HK)

Why would you buy a question car for 6 million

Isn't that the same car you were enthusing about a few pages back?

Thank you for keeping 56331 pristine, I enjoyed my ownership of it for a few years, and today it's still in a good home here in the USA.

Fair enough, I think what you and others liked was the idea of low mileage untiI pointed out it had a Ferrari 328 speedometer, how that very obvious & important fact was overlooked by so many people amazes me, a perfect example of why you want an experienced professional guiding you when considering these cars.

I understand but my friend didn't know 57725 was a question car and he asked about it after I told him about this thread. He said Curated told him the following (and I quote his note to me):

"FML once quoted the wrong mileage on car. John has every service record spaced 2 years apart from car production onwards. All consistent with stated mileage. So much so that Massini has changed his report on the car to reflect the mileage quoted."

Why would Curated say this if it is so easy to check this? I wish Marcel Massini would comment whether this is true or not. My friend went on to buy another 288 GTO with an amazing history file and no stories.

"FML once quoted the wrong mileage on car"

It was listed 3 different times in 3 different years by 3 different sellers in 2 different publications, all noting a mileage higher than the currently-quoted mileage!

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149653674/

I have no information on this car beyond Marcel's post and Curated's publicity, so there could be more to the story, but just saying...

From what I understand you are saying, you would like someone to say that the publications with this GTO for sale in are incorrect, even if they are wrong how could this be corrected. That is the problem. When you are spending 6 million on a car you really want as few stories as possible.

Sorry - to clarify...I would just like Marcel Massini to say either 'Yes - John T is correct (i.e. he did show me service records that back up 990 miles' or 'No - that is not correct ' - Curated should not be saying to people - Massini has changed his report if this is incorrect - not everyone reads ferrari chat - but a lot of people respect the Massini reports.

Clearly you cannot change those ads in FML - I find it very hard to believe it was listed 3 times incorrectly(!) with two of those in FML which Marcel shared pics for here.

I very recently inspected one in the possession of a dealer who professes a very high degree of 288 knowledge and insisted it was original paint. Only Ray Charles could in good conscience make such a claim. It was a very obvious repaint. Reputation seems to matter to so few these days.

    Translated from the Maranello website:
The Legacy Tour 2024 will instead start in Val Rendena. The event chose Trentino, Veneto, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna as the backdrop for its routes. The most important Ferrari 288 GTO collectors will come from all over the world to discover the history, culture, food and wine excellences, architectural wonders and landscapes of the territories crossed.

The elegant scenery of the Dolomites will accompany the crews until the last day, which will see the arrival of the participants in Maranello, on Friday 4 October, at approximately 4.30pm. The GTOs will be welcomed into the Prancing Horse factory, where participants will discover some of the car's secrets directly from the Ferrari Classiche experts, as well as from some members of the GTO development team. The cars will be displayed inside the factory and, afterwards, a parade on the Fiorano Circuit will close the 2024 GTO Legacy Tour.
