I'm not against switching colors on a 288 (sacrilege!!!.........) but this would not be my chosen shade. To each his own I guess. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Probably one of the best test drive of the 288 GTO. Mercedes AMG W124 5.6lt against 288GTO. Behind the wheel Michele Alboreto, vs Stephan Johansson. The two official Ferrari drivers. On the track, the two drivers went to the limit of the cars, Stephan in Michèle's rear-view mirror and vice versa. Alboreto frustrated at not being able to dump Stephan. At the end of the test (we came out with cold sweats) Alboreto made donuts from his GTO and took out of the vehicle in a cloud of smoke. This is one of my recent project cars that are back at Maranello for a total restoration, back to factory specification from 1985.. it will be a very special example when completed.. A world record price paid for the car and now sent to Ferrari to total restore the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It has been a fantastic project.. cars with total provenance are very hard to find, this was a gem with perfect provenance.. but needed to to be fully rebuilt from ground up.. it will be a reference car when completed back to 1985 Ferrari specification..
Thank you for the information and these wonderful photographies. It is easy to perceive your interest in this project, I would even say "an electric enthusiasm". Please keep us updated, and I wish you complete success with this project.
hmmm, 20 delivery mileage 288s are worth over $100,000,000 today! At the time about $1.5m at $75k each or whatever the new price was. Quite a sight!
