I do. And, really, only people who really care about Ring times nowadays is Porsche, who build their GT cars to specific Ring times, so each iterative generation of a GT car improves Ring times in increments. If you want to fall into the rabbit hole of Ring times, or track times, to gauge the prowess of a car, go for it. For me, it's just one data point. It doesn't show, or show, that one car is necessarily faster (or better, whatever that means) than another car. You need other data points. Track time alone, without more, is neither a sufficient nor necessary condition as either a qualitative or quantitative metric to determine how fast or slow a car is vis-a-vis another competitor.
I think you’re misunderstanding. I don’t “need” other data points. Convincing you is of zero importance to me. Would I like more data points? Absolutely. But I feel the trend of SF90 track superiority will continue even with more data. The fact is, based upon the data we have, the SF90 is objectively a faster car than both the 296 and Senna. If you want to prove otherwise, find or produce data that counters that. Something I already know you can’t do.
In reality yes, there are so many variables that predicate results. Morning to afternoon, tires, driver, etc. I've run the same car on the same day at different times of the day and have had 3 to 4 second differences. In some cases I felt so much faster and want close. This is in a Challenge cat with stickers.
Ah, the track times debate. Reminds me of another poster that was saying how a Pista "destroys" the F8 on the track. I replied that this seemed unlikely, as both have the same engine and aren't far apart in weight. He proceeded to find random Internet times (by different drivers!) where a Pista was faster. And then a magazine time where they were barely a half second apart, which was a "massive difference" he said. Except....the Pista was on Cup Rs and the F8 was on stock tires. There is your half second. There is always variability to lap times and small differences aren't worth debating. Heck, put me in a 296 and a Corsa Pilota instructor in a 458 and I bet they win. I mean I hope not, but they absolutely might. At Thermal I was a solid 3 seconds back of the top lap an instructor put down.
That's not the point. The point is, same driver, same car (and in theory) same day. At Thermal, my instructor was pulling ahead of me in an X5, when I was in a 991 GT3, only time I made up any distance was on the straight away on the South circuit. But I am pretty sure my instructor could put down a faster lap time (north south combined) in a 992 GT3 than he could in a 991 GT3.
None of these cars destroy each other anymore. 765 and 296 are very similar in raw performance metrics. Whoever gets jump is winning in a straight line and a single driver would be within a margin of error on a track.
As someone fortunate enough to see a portion of this collection (maybe 40-50 cars, maybe more), you cannot even imagine how good it is. And best of all, the owner is a gentleman (and scholar) who is so generous with his time and his collection, and most of all, actually drives his cars like they should be driven. The sound of the FXX is insane. Don't want to say anymore (and certainly will never post pics) but it was a highlight of my recent trip to a Ferrari driving event that I most certainly never forget. Thank you again you know who.

Im 6'4" and do not fit in any lambos. I did however fit quite comfortably in the Revuelto. They have completely redesigned it and so for taller guys- that will be an option if you want a Lamborghini going forward.
I enjoy Mclarens cars quite a bit but Mclife is a completely S-show. When the most vocal and opinionated members dont actually own the cars and have never driven the cars that they argue about- it becomes difficult to take that place seriously. Unmac is a beast but he tells it like it is. The "regulars" are a joke with one guy driving a 14 year old mclaren and the another driving an 8 year old always so close to pulling the trigger on a new car but just as he is about to write the check for financing, he just manages to find something wrong with the car. It's lame and the moderation there is terrible and hard to have any serious conversations. FCHAT is great in that you can have actual conversations with actual owners.
I've been inquiring about the new GTS for days but no response from McLaren or any of their dealers here in CA. When you go to a dealer's actual website there is no chat feature, which is ok, but if you click on the inquire button it takes you to McLaren headquarters then you choose which country, state etc. It's a joke. However, the actual dealer websites DO have a phone number which puts the onus on the customer to reach out to them to be graced with some info. assuming there's a live person on the other side. It's almost like they're too timid to actually sell you a car.
What do you want to know about the GTS? Id recommend a 2021 or a 2022. GTS has slightly more HP but great deals on a 1 or 2 year old car
thank you for your reply. I've actually configured a 2025 GTS on their website and want to send it to a dealer for pricing and ordering info. code:US87IS8
They raised the price on the GTS by like 25k from the previous year. which dealer? I have a good relationship with my Scottsdale team if you need help. not sure which dealer you are working with.
thank you. I just got off the phone with the SA at wetlake village. Could I work with an AZ dealer for CA delivery? thanks!
Yeah. I dont see why not. Call Scottsdale. Speak with Jared. Tell him Sam asked you to call. ask him about my custom paint for my 750. 602-689-4385 (its his cell)
I do t think I’ve met a bigger loser in my life. Dude drives an entry level 8 year old McLaren and has an opinion on everything. It’s so annoying. There isn’t a thread he doesn’t post on- which is actually fine if you want to post your opinion- but he starts arguing every time with actual owners. It’s lame. Too bad the mods absolutely suck. They need to reign it jn
Interesting video on 750. Watch from about 30 minutes where he compares the 750 against the 296. Have not driven the 296 so I can’t comment but interesting insights nonetheless.:
