OK, let’s assume he meant 79. Can anyone help with his question?

The 155/78 Owner's Manual for the later euro version 308GTB/308GTS has the technical information for the s127g system (advance curve, idle timing spec). There really isn't any detailed written "procedure" available that I'm aware of, but the bottom line is that when you have the crankshaft and cams in the position for cylinder #1 to fire (AF6 on the flywheel, or PM1-4 is close enough, with both cyl #1 valves closed) = the distributor rotor should be pointing at the contact in the distributor cap for cyl #1 (and there should be a red notch in the distributor housing edge to mark this location as an aid when mounting the distributor housing to the engine). After starting the engine, you would then rotate the distributor housing any necessary small amount to get 6 deg BTDC at 1000 RPM idle.
Are you having a specific problem?
