    Try and find out how much the damage is going to be to fix---might not be worth it.

    Walk... even if you fix the car for under $10K and presumably restore its full value, you will have to explain to the next buyer that car had a collision with repaired body damage. That will turn away plenty of buyers. Now if you plan to keep the car "forever" then this might be a good deal for a "fixer upper" but still under $30K.
