The first video is really short but the motor sounds cool. The mic was put under the rear deck for this shot. The second video is much longer, 4-5 minutes. The Porsche in the video was actually much closer than it looks on video. The hood mounted camera distorted the distance a little bit. This video was taken outside of a town in AZ called Jerome. The mic was placed outside the rear window in this one. The car is a black 1988 328. There was much more footage but the website I posted it on only could hold 100 mb at a time. The second video was most of the best part anyway. It is a little hard to judge the speed, but to give you an idea the car was in the top of 3rd gear in most of the film. Occasionally in 4th on a straightaway, 2nd in the tight turns. Play it on a computer with good speakers and turn it UP!! Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TxxQhdm-mg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOzSmdtVfmw
Nice!!! I'm a big fan of black 328 videos. Great road, too. We need to get some of the movie biz guys to share their camera-mounting tricks.
Brilliant, Why Oh Why don't we have roads like that here in the Uk!, I would never be at home if we did ;-)
Bullfighter, videos like this are really easy to shoot. All you need is a video camera and a "cigar style camera kit". The kit is less than $300.00 and includes small cameras that look like cigars. They are mounted with a suction cup design and come with an audio pick up that can be mounted anywhere. The video camera is just a means to record the footage, the small camera is what takes the picture. If you already have a video camera, getting the kit would be no problem. I would make some new videos but the set up belongs to a friend of mine (the guy in front of me in the video). The only problem I find with the little camera is the difficulty it judges speed. Most of the video in Jerome was shot going very fast, it's hard to tell in the film.
