Thanks for posting this information, it’s wonderful to know the history of the color names. My 365 GTC was originally Grigio Ortello, would you post a photo of a 365 in that color?

Ed, zero deductions....scored 100 points...... Also awarded: Best in Class, as well as, Best Ferrari Restoration. Was a big weekend - client was over the moon.
Yes, thanks Marcel. Cina has always been a bit of "mystery color" to me, as I have never come across a fan-book that had a sample... Nice...
Rosso Cina is Rosso CHINA (like the country). China red. Here are samples from Duco and from Lechleroid. Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
good question - when we were working thru the orig color, rossa corsa was a consideration, but had a tint of too much orange.....so we went with orig color - we also had a great color match when we stripped the car, sea of red under the package tray and rear area as well as the rear inner fender areas. Ed….congratulations!! Scoring 100 pts doesn’t happen often at Cavallino or the FCA Annual. Tip my hat in respect for your work.
This is a very nice vintage red color. It is much nicer than the typical "resale red" which was used at the time when every vintage Ferrari had to be red. I'm glad those days are over.
The photos are of GTC #10495. It has original paint in Rosso Cina. The paint has color shifted from age quite a bit in the surface exposed areas to more orange. The open door photo is intended to show the difference between the original color door jam vs the surface paint. Unfortunately the digital phone camera does not show this very well. It it quite noticeable in real life. I happen to like the patina effect. It will never be repainted during my ownership. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Your photos look quite orange. China red is a very attractive vintage color. There is no disadvantage with a repaint using an original vintage color. The paints from the 1960's did not age well; modern paints are much better. I did a Glasurit repaint of my 330 GTC and got 100 points at the 2019 FCA National Experience in AZ.
