Does anyone know how many of these cars were produced in 1968?
For many years I’ve had a Chinetti check, endorsed by Chinetti and Ferrari for the payment of a car and was thinking if the car still existed I would attempt to contact the current owner. The check states ‘in full GTS Mr Manzelli’ and is for $8000 and is dated 3 July 1968.

Most likely not enough info to be able to trace the car but am curious to try

$8K payment "In full"? I think not, unless it was VERY well-used- presumably the balance due following a hefty down-payment.

Ira, this is a payment from Chinetti to Ferrari, but I take your point that relatively it was not a great deal. Any idea what the retail price was for this car? I wonder what sort of markup Chinetti added when he sold and whether he would have had to pay an initial deposit when the order was placed.

Chinetti's list price was approximately double the amount he paid to SEFAC. Note that it is dated July of 1968. I'm willing to bet that the Certificate of Origin states a build date prior to Dec. 31, 1967
Road & Track tested a 330 GTS at Harrah's MCM but I don't recall the list price, probably around $15,000
