Congrats on 8995 - enjoy her in good health.

As for the ad, it looks straightforward as can be - I don't see what's misleading - it only took seconds for me to see it was salvage, series II, etc..

it's interseting that after $25k, the reserve isn't met. this car will most likely become a donor car. after all, what is and engine and a chassis # worth? i doubt anyone will attempt body work on this car, which is sad. however, maybe tom shaunessy will chime in, but the car can't be worth much more than $25k.

This car has been the subject of much discussion on Tom Yang's board. Apparently the right front wheel came apart at around 40 mph-- in some of the pics you can see what is left of the wheel, doesn't look pretty.

Supposedly the owner is looking for $30k.

VIN #9315 (as ad states) ... pity as it looked like a good car. Fixable if you had the time and skills, but will cost $$$'s otherwise!

I wonder what the real reason is for the early auction end.

I agree. What's misleading here? The seller states that it's a 330 GT, provides the chassis number, gives plenty of detail and, most of all, provides plenty of photos that clearly show exactly what car he's selling (right down to a photo of the chassis plate that clearly states "330 GT"). How could anyone mistake this for a GTC?????

I stand corrected: the ad really isn't misleading; I guess what I meant was, the heading "330 GT" was not as descriptive as it should have been ie: "330 GT 2+2". It is a shame to have had so much damage, and there's much important stuff unknown about the car. If the owner gets $30K, he will be very lucky indeed. At least IMHO. steve

As far as Ferrari is concerned, the proper designation for the car is "330GT." The "2+2" part was added on later by others.

Actually, while the original factory brochure for the model did refer to it as the "330 GT," the factory's 1966 and 1967 "Produzione" brochures referred to it as the "330/GT 2+2," so I would say both are acceptable.

Will you share the details of the purchase and circumstances of your new GTC?

The gtc, #8995, will be delivered this weekend. After I get the car registered (European car, somehow got to Nebraska, then Canada, now headed for Texas) and through customs, I'll post the list on the details. steve meltzer, neophyte Ferrari owner, "I've spent all my money on this Ferrari, red wines and women, and squandered the rest"

A year or so ago, I posted a message about a dark bronze car I saw on Sumneytown Pike in my area - southeast PA.

The car on eBay must be the same one I saw - it definitley had PA plates and, as I recall, vanity plates.

Anyone know just who the owner is/was?

5 posts and he has a 330! Eurotrash is gonna have a breakdown!

Go get that wrecked one Doc, and we'll got to work!

Very strange to see a cast wheel failure, I've seen them result AFTER a lurid slide and flip, but it looks as if that failure CAUSED the wreck rather than being a result.............

Get Ferrari Uk on the phone for some sheet metal........

That wreck that night launched our beer keg 200 yards into Galveston Bay...we had to swim after it.....

As a fellow (sorta, really from Atlanta but I have been here 20 yrs) Texan, I don't get the fuss, only 200 yards. I've seen worse. Note to self, buckle the beer in first.
