    Hello everyone,

    My name is Rafael
Well... I think this will not be the expected presentation of my Ferrari 348 since since I brought it to Mexico it started to have a problem with the exhaust ECU after learning from you how to obtain the codes.
The car, after changing the ECU exhaust and O2 sensors, ran better but after a hard drive my gf and we smelled burning, we got out of the car and oh what a surprise (you'll see it in the photos) thank God and some people with fire extinguishers (after 10 minutes ) we turned off the car. fire, although it did hurt the back of the car a lot. I leave you the images and the initial diagnosis is to change to an exhaust with better heat dissipation, new taillights, batteries, intake and paint the car.

2 weeks ago I was VERY sad , but now I feel with a lot of entusiasm to reborn this 348 .

What a disaster....but it could be even worse...for the car and for you.
I wish you to have your car back shinier than before. I will keep my fingers crossed!

    Sorry for you.
Do you know the reason of this mess?
I don't think a hot exhaust could do this alone.
    Fuel must be involved.

good that you are fine, thats the main thing. looking at your pictures,

looks like it started near the battery (assuming early car).

there is no real fuel back there, closest the fuel lines get is back of the block at the injector rail.

    good luck with the rebuild

Yes I think the real problem was that the OEM exhaust has 2 metal insulator , my car only have the one near the air box so the heat go directly to the tailight seals ...

So for sure our first mod will be complete exhaust , fabspeed and capristo

Get a hold of Ferr parts in Sacramento. They just broke up a 348 Spider. I reckon they will have a good number of parts you will be needing.
