Ok so Im looking on MSN for F cars and I stroll across this.

    http://www.carsauto.com/detail.cfm?ID=160040

Now, I've never seen a Ferrari with that many miles. I also wonder that since it is a Ferrari and it lived so long, it must have been well serviced. Do any of you Ferrari owners think this would be a good buy? Do you think it could depreciate anymore?

That car has been for sale out in San Fran area for MONTHS. With that being said, I can go and take a look at it next week when I am out there.....

There are WAY more variables that will go into someone buying this car than mileage and price. At $30k, it isn't a steal by a long stretch.

I would be willing to bet that the car doesn't come with records. Just a hunch based on the wheels and condition of car......

    Just a hunch......

And if that is true, you can add $5k to the price for a major, which gives you a $35k 348 with 100k miles and an interesting color scheme and shady history......

And that is NOT a deal.

Probably a rebadged ts, considering that the interior is a streetcar interior. If you want a car to buy and drive with abandon and not worry about depreciation, and plan on doing most service and repairs yourself, this is probably a great deal!!! It's been driven, sure, but really only about 8k per year since new. That means regular driving, so it hasn't spent it's life in the shop like many garage queens and "problem cars", it's been sorted and kept running for 16 years, so why not a few more????? If it's a clean, straight car, why not? Heck, when you're done with it, it'll still be worth a good bit to somebody who really wants one!

I would pay $25,000 max for it, since it needs an engine belt service.
still a good car for somoene who just wants a toy .

I agree. The mileage isn't a big deal to me. The price is. 8k is perfect per year for a Ferrari. Especially if it was 8k California miles....

Price is still too high. Don't know what I would pay. But I would be interested in seeing it as long as I will be out there.....

Did Ferrari make any "Challenge" cars with a targa top? Most likely a 348 GTS with different wheels and air dam.

    The photo looks great.

If you are local to the car go have a look at it. If you are considering a no-look purchase I'd recommend passing. I am sure there are going to be lots of little things that may ad up to a massive dissapointment if you did not know about them up front. If it gets decent results on a compression/leakdown test and has no massive issues it is probably worth around 25-28k. The pictures do not tell me much. Sure would could be cool to own and do my own 30k on it. This car has "make me your daily driver" written all over it.

Any ts or tb could be converted into a 348 challenge car. Ferrari even made 13 348 #'d challenge cars in '94 and I know a few were raced.

This car has been on this site before. I believed it was infact raced. Even at that price I would be a little concerned about life left without major rebuild.
