Last week I was doing some ahem, "spirited" driving down my favorite twisty two lane back county road Where 80mph feels like 200mph (think BMW ad). Never have I seen a police official on this stretch.

So coming up to a wide bend I see what looks like a Ferrari coming towards me. I slowed down to oogle him. My first thought was DAMN he's going SLOW. It was a sweet 348. Then he does the strangest thing. He flashes his high beams at me.

OH NO! There's a COP AHEAD. That's why he's going so slow!

Thank god it was a hot yellow 348 otherwise and I had slowed to watch it pass or I would have blasted by Deputy dog at warp 2 even with the good brakes on the evo.

    I waved to the cop.

    Good times,

    Dave

As another resident of the western part of the great commonwealth of Pa, I was glad to see that the gentleman in the 348 was looking out for his fellow man. I know from driving my M3, that if you are caught exercising your car, they come down on you like a hammer. I flash my lights to warn other drivers every chance I get.

    Yeah,
but in Missouri, the redneck couples around I-70 think "flashing lights" are meant to degrade their car or something..
I was on I-70 East, in passing lane, flashing my lts to warn west bound drivers of HiWay Patrol trap..then then this redneck couple in a Ford Escort or POS car (in slow lane), turn their necks around, start cussing Me, weaving on the road, thought they were gonna be a victim of their OWN road rage..hahaha!
So, rednecks in MO, young 20s types, too busy making Medicaid babies to go to Europe, or even READ about Europe, or Car flashers WARNING of Cops in the opposite direction..
MO schools suck, big time, glad I wasn't trained here!

I always flash the lights if I know there is a police car present but oncoming drivers haven't seen it. I was once doing 100mph on a long straight and a van driver flashed me to inform that there was a police car over the brow of the hill, cue rapid slowing down and driving past at 50mph, the police driver could have stopped me for going too slow!
