i had a similar problem. Check the fluid levels for the hydraulic pumps. You will have to fill, run the top, fill, run the top, etc etc. Simple process.

After it gets "stuck" try gently pulling down (toward the ground) on the hinge mechanism. When you hear the beep again, press your button.

And post pictures before a bunch of idiots ask you to do that...

On a related note I had a problem with the targa top coming off the 328. It stopped about mid-way. Turned out to be a cramp in my arm, so I got a massage and now it's working OK. :)

The second support bar can get stuck - See if is free to move foward and backward - If it stuck in the foward or rear position the top will get stuck.

    Good Luck!

My top hates the cold weather. When the top is cold it will not go all the way down.

So I sit the car in the hot sun for about 1 hour then the top works great.

Not a fix, but works for me in crazy colorado.

    hope it helps!!

In cold weather...... a "synthethic" fluid would work great as it should flow easily in lower temps :). ...... "pentosine" from the german car dealer or something similar from your local auto parts store..??

Tough for me to gauge, as its always around 70F and 40% humidity here in SoCal.......... ;) :D!!!

I keep the fluid full, might not be a bad idea to go with what bullfighter says about the sythentic fluid next spring! I might need to cycle the top more also from what others have said.

The top seems "tight" when its cold. The sun loosens it up before I put it on the lift for the winter for storage.

Really doesnt matter too much for me, the top goes up once in the fall. Down once in the spring, and once more cycle at the car show.

I just usally pray to the gods each time I use it that it works..hehe
