Good morning friend, please would you be so kind to help me with a problem I have with my ferrari 355 gts, the problem is when the coolant temperature reaches 190 degrees the fan starts on the pilot side but the temperature continues to rise and the fan of the co-pilot side does not start. Please thank you if you can help me. Thank you

Have you tried applying power directly to the fan to see if it works?

Do you have a Motronics 2.7 or 5.2 (Two CHECK ENGINE lights or one?)

You could try checking the resistance of the water temperature sensor (Item 40) at a known temperature.

I think it's in the same location on the 2.7 (note that that has two water temperature sensors as well as the standard water temperature sensor for the water temperature gauge).

Yes this is first thing to try. The original fan motors are not sealed so grit gets into them and they will seize up and/or the commutator will wear excessively.

If the motor is OK based on the above check, then the next thing to check is the fan relay and the fuse.

Check the fuses. There is an individual fuse for each motor. As the motors wear they will start to draw a lot of current and intermittently blow the fuse. Replacing the fuse is a short term solution but it will likely fail again.

Check fuses and relays. Your fan may work when powered directly by an outside power source, but it could be drawing way too much current due to age a wear and pop/melt the fuse or fry the relay.

    gracias )

Check fuse 20 in the passenger footwell. Also try swapping relay R (Right radiator hand fan) with relay O (fuel filler release).

As others have said, check the fuse. I recently had a similar issue. Both fans had already been recently replaced and were working fine. Found that the fuse was melted from looses contacts on the fuse board. Had to order a whole new fuse board.

Also the relay socket can melt due to the constant 30 amp spike with the fans instant on going on and off frequently. I added Toyota PWM controllers to solve that. No more light dimming when fans kick on and general dropped load severity on the system as a whole.
