    Hey all,

I've been trying to find a replacement windshield for my F430 coupe. Dealership price is over $3k. Do any of you know of a less expensive source?

The F430/360 coupe windshields are the same, so either one works.

    Thanks!

Really?? $3k for a windshield. OMFG, sometimes I'm just shocked by things like this, though I know I shouldn't be.

I don't think Mercs are much better unless you go to the aftermarket.

Your comprehensive insurance should cover it, unless you went with an extremely high deductible.

So strange how much the windshields cost. The windshield on my Porsche windshield was $350 installed!

I have found there is one price for cash, another for insurance. The latter being much more expensive. That's fraud if done with medical billing.

It's exactly the opposite and a whole nuther kind of fraud with medical billing. I once had to check a family member in to a facility for some in patient counselling, and was quoted $800 a night. The next day they told me they didn't take my insurance and I'd have to submit separately, and the price was $2400 a day. Because they didn't qualify the previous day's remarks, they ended up charging me thier insurance rate. But man oh man, if that isn't unfair, I don't know what is. You don't have insurance, so we'll charge you triple.

That is not the norm from my experience. Generally physicians will charge you a bit less if you don't have insurance to be competitive.

Medicare will pay a certain amount for services so health care providers want to bill Medicare the maximum amount they (us the taxpayer) will give them. There will be problems for doctors that charge Joe off the street a lesser amount than they bill Medicare, if they are discovered.

This discussion doesnt' help the OP. Good luck with finding a new windshield.
