I was thinking about having a set made for my 430. Similar to what’s available for the 488.

    Sup all.

So I've been spending my last few weeks toying with new ideas & mostly bringing the car's performance up to date. Figured that is part of the Modernising too.
    Nothing too funky:

    TCU Update
Swapped in a Challenge Stradale TCU & this transformed my year 2000 car.
I mean, the car still gives a semi-crude, period-correct, F1 single-clutch gearshifts (I somewhat enjoyed the raw feeling), but everything I used to be unhappy with it was sorta fixed...

    - No longer did the stupid clutch slip on uphills or when moving off in traffic...
    - No longer slams & jerks my car into gear 1 (I used to think it was Syncro issues)
    - More aggressive upshifts with faster & smoother clutch feel (I sorta can feel that the software timing for the clutch was more natural).
    - Somehow downshifts now comes with perfect rev-matching/double clutching.
    - The sound was as if I was in another car! Probably the rev-matching & clutch engagement made it different (hella aggressive).
    - No longer need to put it to neutral before a stop.

    ECU Update
Did a tune based on Challenge Stradale/Challenge Race Car firmware! (Thank you AV Engineering!)

    - Fueling maps re-calibrated for standard MAF sensors.
    - Instant torque patch
    - Custom cold start calibration
    - Custom exhaust valve operating map
    - Catalytic converter monitoring removed
    - EVAP pressure monitoring widened

    Exhaust System cleaning up
The silencer box was spewing out some sort of white powder & made my engine bay looked nasty & dirty. I researched a bit and realised it was coming from a layer of heat insulation breaking down... (see pictures below) Had this sorted to get the engine bay ready for Forged Carbon blings...

    New Paint Code?
Had been toying with the idea of giving my car a full stripped-down paintjob since the current is less than perfect plus there were multiple paint chips...
Had major difficulty coming to terms what colour I should have it redone to.

I opened no less than 7000 polls, questioned everyone, questioned myself, studied other Ferraris, looked into history, looked into other manufacturer's Red just to decide - Rosso Scuderia or Rosso Corsa?
Had found my Rosso Corsa perfect under the sun and too dull everywhere else (I like to be flashy :p).

As with all stupid questions, there's always the stupid answer of "why not both?" Had the guys looked into a completely new colour for me. We first tried 50-50 RS & RC, before finally striking a perfect balance - finally a colour that looks good both under the sun and in darker carparks. (Could be difficult to present to ya'll with just pictures. But just take my OCD for it that the final code would be better.)

    Introducing Rosso Performanté. :D (oops.)

Paul: Thank you for the info. It does not make any sense that the spider and coupe are different. I have a Spider. Please keep me posted if you hear from them. Stay safe, Mel

I always thought that would be a cool thing to add but not sure if it would mess up the airflow too much! Visually awesome though.

Whats the process for getting the ECU firmware updated from Singapore? I am in Australia and would be keen for an ECU firmware upgrade but unsure of the process since AV Engineering/Trev are over in the UK.

Haha I am trying to get the aesthetics of the new steering basically, would be good if I can route a few stuff over like suspension raising. But yeah, mainly looks to update the dated interior.

I removed and shipped the entire ECU over to them!

Wish I've more stuff to update about, but my 360 met with small issues after small issues... Bit of misfortune with compressor going out followed by the water pump, replaced both but now suspected failing radiators, fan and condensers too. One of the handbrake cables jammed too. :(

Good news is some new tyres are up along with my new rims! It looks - I dare say, PERFECT in the flesh.
Fitment is perfect, the 19/20 works nicely without looking overdone and the curves of the 360 matched up.
To the common man, it might even pass off better as a modern Ferrari!

Probably have to get big brakes conversions now, along with hollow titanium bolts...

    Enjoy:

    Thank you!
They were highest quality forged aluminium. I was looking into magnesium but $16k was a little out of budget for me!

    The weight estimate was
    Front: 10.4KG
    Rear: 12KG

Didn't actually weight them but I expect them to be a bit lighter than estimated!

Fun fact: realised the custom rims happened to be the exact same dimension as the new upcoming Gordon Muray T50.

Thanks! I think altering the rims to look curvier helps! The original Monza's were too thin!
Yep was looking at Acer too. Will do so! (had no preference prior anyway HAHA)

I really like them. Very nice upgrade. Good to hear they are forged. Stronger and lighter than cast.
I agree. Magnesium is too expensive and it's kinda overkill. Not to mention my old hot rod Magnesium wheels do not hold up too well to oxidation. Not well at all actually.
Looking forward to a price on these. ;)

I'm looking to market them for $3.8K next year! (kept the price relatively low)
Right now it's not on the market yet!
(I am really looking forward to the front bumpers badly...)

@ that price point they should be a home run. ;)

What size front and rear did you settle on? And what tires (sizes) are on them in the photos of your car? Nice look. Good amount of sidewall.

    All the best, regards, Ken

Would like to think so too!
Wonder how they will look on the 430. (Think they suit the 360 more tho.)
Yeah man I like dem tyres PHAT HAHA. :D

    Rims:
    (front) 19x8.5
    (rear) 20x11

    Tyres:
    (front) 245/35R19
    (rear) 295/35R20

Funny people started pointing out that it looks like a Hotwheels (in a perfect stance kinda way). I googled images of my old Fav F360 Hotwheels toy and realised it was eerily similar (lost it since). Funny how childhood subconscious works.
