    Hi,

I have been looking to purchase a 360. When I find the right one, suddenly I realize it's missing HiFi.

Is the standard still good enough, or does it really lack compared to the regular?

At this point if I heard that the standard sounded fine to any regular guy I would rather get one without it, but I am afraid to here that it really lacks.

If you have access, try and get a ride in one with the HiFi option in it.. you might be surprised by how it sounds.. Most people seem to do aftermarket systems in their cars if they really want to listen to music.

The standard radio is pretty anemic. The HiFi is significantly better with an additional amp, upgraded door speakers/ tweeters and a small sub in a tasteful enclosure which features an additional carrying enclosure.

Obviously one can always spend more to hear more. But the HIFI option for the 360 is a nice option

    The standard definitely lacks.
I added an aftermarket. New headunit with Bluetooth and iPod, amp, new speakers and new sub. They put the amp and sub in custom enclosures behind the seats with matching leather.
So much better than the HiFi option. Literally night and day difference. My suggestion is just get the standard and upgrade with custom.
I had Project 2 Custom in Waukesha, Wisconsin do the work. They chose all the components and even built the custom enclosures. It actually looks stock. They did excellent work and it makes such a difference. I could not be happier with the result.

Are you keeping the stock exhaust? Most upgrade to Tubi. If u upgrade, stereo wont matter.

Haha, thing is I'm all about staying stock. I kind of have an up session with it. The stereo may be an exception though.

Of course I understand and appreciate the engine sound, but I think there will be times when I want a blast some music.

I think I'll just look for the Hi-Fi cars, seems like it would be good enough for me. I don't need something really perfect, just decent.

Are both standard and HiFi Becker?

and while were we're talking about radios, anyone have experience with the Nav option?

I would only leave the car stock- it helps resale and just looks better to me.

My 360 has the standard system w/CD changer, and it has more bass and music sound than my old 911. I upgraded the 911 stereo with standard speaker sizes because the old ones were shot and put in a small amp, but it just didn't sound as good as the 360 standard setup. I will say I rarely listen to the radio in the 360- I would concentrate on the best 360 you can find- if it has the hi-fi great, but that shouldn't be your top 5 criteria. And if it has an aftermarket system, I'd personally mentally deduct value of the car (I realize many will disagree with me, especially those that spent thousands upgrading their system, but it's just my opinion as I get anal about things being stock with the exception of the OEM exhaust).

The stock system is "adequate" for the car in my opinion- not great but not the worst.

clearly, (yes pun intended), I'm in the minority here. In my spider, I rarely listen to the radio, but my Suches exhaust is a pure Italian concert . Also, the hifi option includes a set of speakers that are located between the front seats. I prefer this area OPEN. You can carry clubs there, if you like. I'm not a golfer, but I still prefer the area void of useless speakers.

+1, one of the reasons I was hoping the standard would be decent.

I agree with the last few posters, don't make HiFi the thing preventing my purchase, if it has it, great.
