I want to throw my stock 18" wheels back on my car, but can't find my lugnuts. Ferrari wants $1000 for a set of lugnuts! Is their a cheaper alternative?

My flashlight is missing from the owners kit. I asked the dealer how much to replace, "that would be $89", me, "What the!!!!!!!! Its a mag light with ferrari stamped on it!!!!".

    No doubt lugnuts were $1k!

Hill should reverse engineer the titanium wheel bolts - now there would be a moneymaker.

  8. You can contact Wil at Maranello Racing Cars ([email protected]), an FChat member. I know he has 2 complete sets of used lugnuts for 360's.

When I had my 360 with the 18" BBS wheels I bought the titanium lugs from a dealer for $700 and I thought that was expensive.

I have Hill's on mine. $20ish each from Ricambi.

We laughed together when I asked for the Ferrari ones....$80 EACH ($1600).

I bought some titanium lug bolts for my 360 off ebay. I think I paid $600 or so; then sold my stock ones for $200 on ebay, so my net cost on the titanium upgrade was only around $400 as I recall. They are really nice. You can buy them from Italy also. Last time I checked (last year), they were going for $520 Euros (plus $105 Euros for Fedex shipping to the USA).

    Here is the website:

    http://www.poggipolini.it

I personally wouldn't pay $1K for stock lug bolts. Contact Poggipolini and see if someone can help you out. The titanium lug bolts are really nice. I'll attach a picture of mine. They really make the stock rims look nice.

All Titanium bolts have skyrocketed in price. For a long time, Ferrari ones were actually CHEAPER than the Poggipolini ones -- and underpriced relative to the titanium market. About 3 months ago, Ferrari sent a nice letter to everyone informing them of the new pricing. (Like up 50% !!)

We dropped all the Titanium pieces of Hill's inventory from our website because the prices got out-of-hand. I think Paul now only carries limited Ti stocks and most of it is make-to-order.

I'm more than happy to do a group buy on them, but they'll still be damn expensive. If I could find a full set of Ti lugs @ $1000 now, I'd buy them.

I have a set on the shelf. Luca wishes I didn't.

Here is the Titanium market of the last few months:

You aren't the first to comment on the beauty of my nuts... I suspect you will not be the last... :)

The Poggipolini ones are nice, since they use a Torx style head. The Ferrari ones are a standard square drive.

I tried to get my hands on John's nuts a few months ago... he said he didn't know me well enough yet.

I had a long chat with Paul about Titanium nuts today, and we could do a group buy, if there's enough interest. Frankly, there's very little margin in the deal for either of us, and the price isn't wildly cheaper than O.E. Ferrari lugs.

We'd do '360 stock size only' to begin with (this would fit modulars, 5-spokes, and CS rims). They have a standard 360 conical head, and no special tool is required to open them. A normal Ferrari socket would work... of course we'd prefer you use a Hill Engineering CS01.

The Titanium lugs are 44% lighter than OE, which means you'd save 61 grams off each bolt (an OE bolt weighs 140 grams). For the whole car, that's a savings of 1220 grams, or 2.6 pounds of unsprung weight.

The full set would cost $1300 ($500 cheaper than OE). We'd get a special run of titanium, so the estimated production date is mid-September. Yes, it's not for the faint of heart or pocketbook.

If anyone is interested, certainly give me a ring (336-499-2500) or contact me through PM.

This is a greater advantage than a lighter exhaust. Very cool.
