Hi everyone, first post here but I have learned a lot about my cars reading all of the great posts.

My contribution is to let everyone know that we can use 2003-2012 Maserati Quattroporte vertical accelerometers / sensors in place of the Ferrari part number rear vertical sensor that goes bad so often. My old sensor would trigger the suspension warning symbol once the car warmed up.

The connectors are the same. The particular part number I used was Maserati 232082, and it even has the Ferrari logo on there. I imagine there are many part numbers to cover different revisions, plants, etc. These can be had for about $25 used, and the good thing is they're not subjected to as high temperature or as many heat cycles as a used Ferrari part being located in milder locations of the car in the Maserati application. The bracket is the correct shape, with the Maserati bracket is a little shorter off the frame rail which I don't think affects operation, not at the mechanical bandwidths this type of active suspension would be designed for.

For people that want a little more info... the yellow wire is the output signal (DC voltage buffer / "analog") referenced to the white wire, and reads about 2.5V at 1g acceleration (sensor in as installed orientation, no movement). The red wire is a +5V supply referenced to the same white wire. I held both sensors together and the output waveforms are exactly the same at a 250ms / division oscilloscope capture. I did get a single shot capture but didn't bother zooming in to compare Ferrari vs Maserati sensor output bandwidth / slew rates (I forget the memory depth of this scope, but ADC is 500 million samples per second), but if anyone is very curious, I could order another Maserati sensor and capture the signal slew rate with an impulse response.

Here's a video of the real time response: https://youtube.com/shorts/cIkrL1P6fVo?feature=share

I was wondering if you could do a bit more electrical testing just to be certain the parts are compatible. Just kidding! Nice work and thanks na for sharing!

Fantastic first post! Thanks so much for your hard work on this - Super helpful!

The suspension light has been on for quite some time in my car. After doing some homework through the FerrariChat forums, I suspected it was this part. So I finally took it into the dealer and had them run a diagnostic just to be sure.. Turns out it is in fact this sensor.

Their quote to replace the part? $2495

That's insane and maddening. I had to replace mine when I first got the car, it took all of maybe 15 minutes. I put a little more silicone on it to make sure it lasts a bit longer this time. It sickens me that dealers (and some indies...looking at you Donnie Callaway) do what they do and a good majority of people just take it.

People accuse a DIY car of not holding as much value, but I'll eat that 10 grand if it saves me 50 grand in dealer nonsense over the life of the car.

    Thank you Yue Fan.
I must have missed this Post.
I just bought one, will replace the 20 year old one in my car and have a working spare

Wow, fantastic post. THANK YOU! My 2000 Modena began triggering the suspension warning light (the illuminated image on the speedometer of a vehicle with arrows pointing up to the wheels) after driving a few hundred feet and I was wondering if you could replace the rear sensor on the 360s with the front sensor, the reason being used front sensors can be fetched on eBay for about $75 while only a couple ever appear at far higher prices for ones designated as "rear" sensors. And Ricambi and other F-Car parts sources are charging in excess of $1000 for rear new ones! So I just picked up the Maserati one for only $35 on eBay and will give it a go. I'll report back on this thread when I get the part and have some time to install it.Even if it doesn't fix the warning light, I've only shot $35. This post should be copied to the other sensor posts as none of the others seem to mention any type of interchangeability regarding sensors. And, by the way, if your alarm goes out and the module needs to be replaced the Ferrari part is about $750 and it is exactly the same as a GM module that you can get for $75! Yes, the "Ferrari Tax" at work again here :)

What is the Maser part# for the front ones, is it 232160?
Assuming that the rear is #232082
