Does anyone know how the 360 top system actually works? I am trying to figure out if up vs down is just a matter of the pump motor polarity being reversed like it is in many cars. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Ok maybe someone can point me towards the spider top service manual. I have both the modena workshop manuals but can't seem to find the one for the spider top. There is no mention of the top in those manuals

It has a valve switching system. The pump just makes pressure. It is actually set up to use fluid in one area and return it from another so the amount of fluid stays pretty level in the reservoir.
What is the issue you are facing? I am working on a 360 top right now.

I had the top begin to go up and the flaps did not retract. Now trying to get it to reverse back down but it just beeps. So i was trying to go around the top computer and force the reversal.

One of the micro-switches that informs the top ECU the position of everything may be malfunctioning. The top ECU stops the top from running if there is a conflict between these inputs. It does this to keep parts of the top from hitting and damaging each other. A Ferrari specific diagnostic computer will let you see the positions of all of the top micro-switches to give you help in diagnosing the cause of the problem. I would not try forcing anything.

The flaps aren't hydraulic. They have their own motor that operates a pair of cables.
