Do you think that the hydraulic part of the pump could have gotten jammed up?
I've never heard of that happening, but it seems like you changed everything else. The only other thoughts would be a broken wire somewhere, or a bad ECU/TCU that controls it.
It sounds like it may have to be a job for a Ferrari mechanic. :(

Please post the results when you find out what it was. I'm curious and I'm sure others are as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's cheap.

just had something odd happen....i was convinced i did the right job switching out the f1 motors...so i went and pushed the wires in tighter....now i hear the f1 motor when i put in the key....but still wont go into gear...also i tried reseting it a few times and the f1 failure light is still on....still stuck in neutral....ive come to the conclusion that its either the pump...or clutch...opinions welcomed

I dont like how the pump did not work, but then you checked you're work & got it to respond. That muddy's it up a bit. Now I wonder - would have the original pump motor responded? Or was it dead & only this new pump would have worked? But nevertheless you have done the simple stuff & worked it the best you can in your driveway. Final diag at the specialist may be your only recourse at this point.

You need to be happy with what you have done. You confirmed that the motor was faulty, and replaced that (as you should have). That would have had to be replaced either way. You probably saved yourself a cool thousand doing that yourself.

Now if it ends up being the pump portion then that will be unfortunate. But I believe Juri has configured a way to rebuild those as well.

I hope for you that a pump & a clutch kit will not be in your future.

Hey man thats great. I was feeling really down for you as I thought my original diagnosis may have failed you. I am very satisfied to hear that it was right on the money & that you saved yourself from unnecessary repair costs. I am also thrilled that you have a new contact in Juri.

I know there were some doubters on the proposed fix when we posted originally, but I am glad you stayed the course & stuck it out. Bravo for you & your great car.

    Drive on!
